terrible, useless, rude, plays favorites, talks all class and never gets to practice the language, never helps students understand when they are in need of help, 100/10 DO NOT recommend
Ms Talamas is definitely one of those teachers you either love or hate. There isn't much in between especially because she does tend to go harder on people who argue with her and are annoying in class. While I don't necessarily agree with this teaching style, I quickly learned to embrace it and did everything in my power to get on her good side and stay there. She's really a sweet lady if youre sweet to her and if you play your cards right.
Awesome teacher love her
She's quite possibly the smartest teacher I've ever had, however the least orthodox, helpful, or consistent. Her grading is entirely random, and based solely on whim. For some, she offers full credit regardless of the evident faults, for others, little to none for near perfect work. I, myself have been on both sides of the spectrum, and while it's relieving to receive a good grade you didn't deserve, it's frustrating to rreceive a horrible grade you didn'tdeserve.
I had her freshman year when I was a favorite, and class was a breeze. Junior year was a different story - classes were SO boring, I was learning Spanish and improving, but she kept taking off points here and there for seemingly insignificant things, and that took a toll on my grade in the long run. If you're a favorite, great, but if not, I'm sorry.
Terrible at explaining things and takes too many points off of tiny things on exams. Not good at all
Awful. One of the worst teachers i have ever had
I was in Spanish 2H in my freshman year. Luckily, I was one of her favorite students, so I was able to get by a bit easier than most people. The thing is, every day in class feels like you learn hardly any material, and the time goes by quite slowly. Somehow, she's able to turn simple points into deep philosophical discussions about everyones personal lives, which can sometimes take up the bulk of the class. Nonetheless, you learn a lot of content and you learn it well. Best of luck :)
She tries to be cool but shes not. If she likes you you'll get a good grade but if she doesn't you won't. She literally takes total control of your grade. She can also be really mean and single out students. She doesn't really teach the material that well and assigns long pointless homeworks and essays on things that we barely talked about. I had her for 2 years and the first time I was a favorite so I got a good grade but the next time I wasn't so I barely got by and my Spanish got much better.
Spanish 4 CP is a total joke. We barely do anything during class and its easy for her to get distracted. She interupts the whole class when she needs to discipline someone and she doesn't spend enough
talamas is soo distracted and loves to hear about your personal life. if you stay on top of the material and come to class it won't be a problem..just try not to get called out too much or she'll flip
so out of it. but really nice. her analogies dont make ANY sense, and she makes simple things into rly deep discussions. but nice and pretty good teacher.
turns simple things like "puedo ir al bano?" into a heavy philosophical discussion
if she doesnt like u... u r going to fail and you won't have a chance in her class
whats all the animocity for??? This woman might only speak in spanish, but shes always smiling. If you dont like her, its because you are too dumb to handle her
ms talamas is so cool. she has hedr own rules and everything, but she can be very funny at times. she gives us gum. kinda sketchy.just remember, ever means you!
best teacher if your a favorite, hilarious, entertaining, lets certain people get away with anything, youll love her if your in a lower level spanish class
