Mr Depalma is a very knowledgeable, scholarly, and forward thinking man. He is a teacher who is very passionate about history, and if you like history i HIGHLY recommend him as he often talks about all kinds of different historical facts not part of the standard curriculum. However, by contrast I can tell that often times he has issues staying on track and keeping the class under control, and he has a somewhat odd personality, but in a "nutty professor way"- so its good.
He is very nice and a fairly good teacher. He does get off topic a lot but his tangents are pretty interesting. He will love you if you go to safe club. The only problem is that sometimes he tests on things he didn't really explain. I would recommend him though, especially for euro
His class is always really fun! Im glad I got depalma over nash or quinn
He loves European history way to much
Has a severe attitude problem and a Napoleon complex. He is extremely rude and lacks respect.
Mr.DePalma is without a doubt the best teacher I've had at Marlboro. Though he gets off topic, I'm never missing out on information. I've always loved history but I never thought that it could get better, but his class showed me it could. I tend to disagree that's impossible to get over a 96 on a test or fill credit on homework. Rock on DePalmnation!
Alexander Depalma, as a teacher, isn't anything extraordinary. Not to say he isn't a great teacher, but if you are there to get through a class, you won't take anything worthwhile from his class. The extraordinary thing about Mr. Depalma lies within his character, the man himself. I had the pleasure to take him twince, and let me say, the things I took away from his class weren't in the textbook. The guy is smart, rationale, and I couldn't recommend him more.
He is a nice guy and knowledgeable but he never stays on topic. It always seems like he is trying to impress someone with all the useless trivia that he knows. He never gives back tests so you don't know what you got wrong in order to study for the AP exam. The class is supposed to be about Europe so it would be nice if he didn't mention his daughter every other day. I do not mean to be overly critical because I do like him but there are so many irritating things that could easily be fixed.
DEPALMA IS THE MAN!
As a student for two years and running in his class, I can definitely say that he might be one of the few teachers in the class that really knows how to pace and what to do. Yes, he sort of goes off topic in the class and it ties in with the lesson at hand. As for art, just being in Art History does a art history expert not make. And what's more, he is pretty fair for the class as long as you do not cross him. Overall, I feel that the time in this class is all the more worthwhile. So there!

He gives you a review sheet on whats on the test. But he dosent teach whats on the test. His homework is also extremely tedious, the more you write the better you will do.
He is constantly teaches/talks about topics that are not even mentioned in the chapter, sometimes wasting all the class time.
Mr. DePalma is a Dilettante. Forget anything he tells you about Art. His views are shallow and cliche. As someone who has taken Art History on the college level I find his lectures inane.
He is my best teacher!!!..He really makes history interesting and fun!!
I had this guy like 4 years ago...great teacher, made history come alive and actually interesting BUT it is impossible to get 100 on his tests!!
He is an amazing teacher. His class is very interesting. Even in his AP Euro History class.
mr d is awesome.. this is my second year in a row having him and once you get used to his tests and just outline everything in the study guide, you'll pretty much get an A
Mr. DePalma is an ok teacher. The test set up is hard but it can be done, and I find he only teachers 2 of 4 sections per chapter. I don't know it might just be me.
I had Mr. DePalma last year, and he is the greatest teacher EVER. He's the nicest guy ever unless you get on his bad side, and I did everything possible this year to get him again. =D
i hate this man w/an undying passion. he's the kind of person who speaks down to you instead of as if you are an equal. he imposes his political beliefs on you and expects you to agree as he is right
HW is a joke, little work/project/essays YET I learned the most in his class, find it interesting and highly motivated to study for his tests. Best teaching A+++
This is one of the best teachers. He is one of the only people that is not afraid to show you the other side of an issue. He is extremely knowledgeable and open
I had this teacher when he was student teaching. He could not keep control of the class and I think expected a little too much out of the students.
ehh. honestly, he gets on my nerves. i cant stand him. the way he examines each and every student when there is time left in class. not my ideal teacher.
You make history easy to listen to. Your class isn't bad. I think u r...OK!
great teacher, sometimes class can be too repetitive though. its impossible to get over 96 on teh tests!!!!
Mr. DePalma was the best History teacher I ever had. I wish I had him this year.
i think that he is a great guy and does not get enough credit for what he teached me. he is a great teacher and i only wish that there are more Mr. DePalma teachers out there!
Nap time but at least you get all the notes to study.
This has to b 1 of the best teachers I'll have in Highschool, he gets the information through to us, has challenging quizzes and assignments that really make us think, personally, he's a cool guy wit a sly sense of Humor!
you are a good teacher, but your essay tests are killing me!
