His class is unbelievably easy, you won't necessarily learn a whole lot but if you do what's assigned you'll get a lot of practice with the language (plus he only speaks in French, unlike putzeys). An incredibly nice man, but hard to read
Mr. Jobe is an excellent teacher, and very caring. I wish I could have him again. I learned so much.
He is incredibly unorganized and his class has no structure. We did not get anything done all year, and although he rarely assigned homework, he would explain it poorly when he did, which made it unjustifiably complicated. He would often get sidetracked with his weak lesson plans and drop units out of the blue. It took him the entire year to get through 2 books. He's a genuinely kind man, but, as much as this hurts to say, he's not fit to be a teacher.
Bonne chance!
Unclear. Makes fun of students. Plays favorites. Inconsistent.
My speaking and listening skills improved a lot in Jobe's class because we only spoke French. However, we didn't go over grammar very often, so I would recommend studying from the textbook or any of the packets he gives out. Also, his class is kind of boring.
Really nice guy, great for curric 1 classes but doesn't know how to teach an AP class. seems to dislike answering student questions. Incredibly unclear about everything. Easy class though.
I LOVE JOBE! Sweetest man ever, really cares about his students. As a teacher he is a little lacking in certain departments, but his personality makes up for it. instilled a love for french in me.
Dr. Jobe is probably one of the most inetlligent people at North. When you talk to him alone it really is scary how smart he is.
Mr. Jobe is really lacking when it comes to teaching - his explanations are unclear and he ignores hard questions. At times he was very condescending, treating students like his 5 yr. old daughter.
People who have him for a study hall have no idea what it's like to be in his french class. He misplaces a lot of papers and though he means well, he is not what you'd expect of a high school teacher.
I LOVE MR JOBE!!!!! He taught my class a lot, and we had a lot of fun doing it. Anybody is lucky to have him as a teacher....except during study.... he makes you speak French and you can't talk...
For French he sounds nice but for study he alternates lunches and if you got confused your still tardy. Your not alowed to talk or use electronics for studying
He is so nice and sincere and willl forgive you if you turn something in late. He is easy going, funny and really tries to help students understand him, even if his accent gets in
Funny. But I haven't learned much, luckily he is an easy grader. Kinda boring..
he only translates the cognates and somebody told me they felt bad for me because i had to learn all the important grammar stuff from him, but he's a very easy grader
very nice man but impossible to understand. he doesn't answer questions, and he'll test you on stuff you don't know and go over the stuff that's really easy. study hard!!!!
At first I thought he was cool, but then I had a French visitor come to class with me and after talking to him she said, "J'ai rien compris" and said he made a ton of grammar mistakes. He's an okay guy, but is definately NOT clear in his explainations and wont answer hard questions. I agree with his teaching philosophy; yet he doesn't really practice what he preaches and is lazy about correcting stuff and handing it back.
hes ok. if u r in his class you have to do more work than he tells u to if you want to get a good grade on tests. if u participate, u get an a-
He's so great! he sounds kind of like Rafiki, but if you actually PAY ATTENTION you learn a lot. he's really nice. He has a great sense of humor, and Frenchy is great!! :)
I thought he was cool at first, but he really doesn't teach much, you have to make the effort. He isn't all that clear about stuff, and every test includes old material, so review!
Mr. Jobe was great. You needed to pay attention, but he got the eaching through
I didn't learn anything in his class, didn't do any work, I think that I only got C's on the test yet my year grade with him was an A cause I put in good effort
if hewere teachinga classof highlymotivated students he'd be a goodteacher. he hastolearn that highschool kids take all the slack you give them.
You know what? He's giving us a three part final exam, he's giving us tons of work all of a sudden (We're doing Les Jeunes Faits) and it's not cool.
long block wednesdays are worse than awful. he makes us do homework but never checks it unless no one does it..
we spend long blocks going over homework. awful. we start projects and then don't finish them...
hes a nice guy but sometimes its hard to understand something. hes funny with his parrot frenchy, but kinda freaky
Mr. Jobe really is the most caring nicest sweetest man alive and is always willing to try and help and forgives you for anything. you wont learn much, oh well.
I LOVE him! omg hes the sweetest guy and hes soo nice, like almost too nice...u gotta give the guy a break sometime!
give him a break guys- he's such a nice guy- maybe if people LISTENED in his class you would learn something
Yikes! Can't teach - takes an entire class to explain an assignment, spnds no time on the difficult topic and only collects homework when you haven't done it.
so I only had him for study hall- but he seems like a really nice guy, and funny. Plus you gotta love his fashion sense =)
Geez! Easy as anything, but I don't think I've learned a single thing all year.
