probably the most fun you can get out of a class while learning. Beware the pop conjugation quizzes, but everything else is easy. She literally gives u the test answers before giving u the test. If ur ever in a pinch, just ask for the difference between a banana and platano or talk about colombia. she doesn't know what dome is.. had some fun with that. if u aint a diablo u r chilling in this class.
Alririan can be a real ass sometimes and frequently shows no remorse for docking of points or passing out detentions but at the end of it, she could gave been the single handedly best and most disciplined teacher I have had so far in my academic career. Don't let up in class and honest to god DO your homework because she knows somehow if you don't do homework or aren't prepared. Get ready for a LONG and ARDUOUS class but also a REWARDING one.
she is a terrible teacher.
Senorita Mejia is not always the nicest but by far she is the best you definitely learn what you need and as long as you follow along in her class. Word of advice before a "cafe" or quiz ask her about Colombia it might buy u some time.
Last year, my grade went from a B to an A cause of the all participation points she puts in at the end of each semester. This class single handedly saved my gpa.
Overall she taught me well and is not that bad of a teacher. Just beware that she gives pop quizzes where some of my friends got zeros. She also trolls u by making u think that u r taking a pop quiz and then says "AYE NOW YOU KNOW TO STUDY DIABLOS!" and then she calls the whole quiz off and tells us to study better for the REAL quiz. She nearly gave us heart attacks when she does that. A good teacher, but unpredictable and a real troll.
It sucks to be in her class, but you actually learned a lot. I got a B+ in her class both semesters and if it weren't for all of the stuff that she put us through I wouldn't have had such an easy time in Spanish 3 and 4. She is not that good of a teacher, I learned from the book, not her. But still, I learned a lot. Kinda like the Caldwell of English.
You are forced to study independently in her class. You can't pass unless you study and do all the homework. Best Spanish teacher at Loyola. You might hate her now, but you'll love her next year.
She helps your grade a lot at the end of the semester. But its easy to get a 30% on one of her tests bc you never know which test ur going to take or what assignment is due. she could assign homework
Doesn't teach. She will assign 3 tests and 2 quizzes in one day and you will have to guess which one you will actually take. Sometimes she gives a test without any warning.
Will learn so much about Spanish. You'll get penalized if you don't do your work. Gives you everything needed for Spanish for all 4 years. Excellent teacher, has accent. Fun class w/ but will learn.
Great teacher, but I feel like a rat in her maze of POP tests.
This is the class that u learn life isnt fair.Completely unreasonable,everything is pop(quizzes,tests,finals). 2finals/semester.DONT ARGUE/STAND UP 4 UR RIGHTS,U'LL GET JUG.Best spanish teacher@Loyola
Not the clearest teacher but nice and fair. She is very willing to help out if lost but don't get her frustrated b/c that gets you no where. A genuinely good woman who cares for her students wellbeing
She's a great teacher. Clarity can be an issue, but just pay attention. She's also a very nice person and likes her students. Ask her about Colombia, you'll get her off track!
she was a cool teacher, but when it came to assignments and tests, she never gave us clear instructions as to specifically what we were supposed to be doing
Basically if you do your work and study and figure out how she likes to play games with students, you will do well in her class. I learned alot from he despite lack of clarity.
Stop whining u frosh. If you listen and actually do the work you'll earn an A. Shes a great teacher and a nice person. Had her 2 yrs- don't worry- not that bad.
Alirian is one of the worst teachers of all time. She doesn't make things clear and she is just the worst spanish teacher ever.
Had her freshman and sophomore year. A little strict and unclear.
Alright...not the easiest class, but not the hardest either. Class has fun making fun of her =P
