Many nights have I slept for less than 7 hours due to the constant pressure of her class. The way she teaches is by working out problems from the textbook which make absolutely no sense, and there is almost no correlation in her work. I have had to teach myself most of the lessons that she goes over. Class is basically 2/3 going over homework questions and the rest is useless examples. Please avoid Calculus BC, as it is very bad for your mental health.
Overall i thought that she was a pretty good teacher. She often had mood swings and answered questions in a sarcastic manner but she was very knowledgeable and any time that I came in after school for help she was very helpful. The only students who don't like her and don't do well in her class are the lazy ones who don't pay attention or do their work. If you try your best you'll do fine.
I AM TRANSFERRING OUT OF HER CLASS NEXT SEMESTER I can't stand her. We never learn anything and she yells at us all the time. One day she'll be nice and giving us candy, the next day she'll be condescending
Every day spent going over previous day's HW, with only 10 minutes left for new concepts, so we had to go over all the HW again the next day and so on. She also purposefully misgendered me several times (I am transgender). The only Calc BC teacher :(
I've never had problems with teachers, until Ms. McDonald. I've never had a more condescending teacher who demands students brown-nose her. Ms. McDonald uses every question to insult her student's intelligence and views herself as above them. I transferred to a different teacher at semester and that was the best decision I've ever made.
I have an F in Mrs. McDonald's class this semester.I have never failed a class before, and don't consider myself to be a bad student. She is only available to help students before school, which is inconvenient or impossible for many. She teaches fast, and when you ask for clarification she tends to make you feel awkward or stupid. Her obvious random mood swings can be stressful as well. Overall my experience with Mrs. McDonald has been unpleasant.Don't take this class if math isn't really your thing.
Ugh, I hate McDonald so much. I've had her both semesters this year and have hated them both equally. Last semester she made people who asked questions seem like complete idiots. This semester I've been going through some bad depression and easily got lost in half of the lessons and failed at least three tests. Every time she handed them out she didn't ask me what went wrong or anything, she just made me feel like a complete idiot.
Mrs. McDonald's priorities are skewed. She values athletics over education. This is obvious as she blows off her students during the swimming season. From what I hear from swimmers, she's even harder on them. I went to the pool one day to see if she was there because I had a question about an assignment I had missed due to a doctor's appointment. Before I entered the pool area, I could overhear her yelling at one of her swimmers, berating him, telling him to get his "ass in the pool". She's rude
Listen to me. Mrs. Mcdonald is the best math teacher I've had. This is now my 2nd semester and I was relieved that I got her again. She tries really hard to help students understand whats going on and she tried really hard to be friendly. I'm hoping I can have her next year also for calc.
Her heart is in the right place, but she has the craziest mood swings. One day she's up and nice, and the next day she makes fun of you for asking a question. It's strange, I'm amazed I escaped w/ a B
Decent teacher, although not very clear most of the time. My best friend and I only survived that class by cracking "pie" jokes and looking off of each other's tests.
Was a frequent absentee mind wise. loved me because i knew math up and down, and plays favorites. Called me by the wrong name for the two years I had her.
Helpful in preparing for the AP exam; just take calc BC. Great class, decent teacher.
at first she was nice and helpful when you asked for help but now she seems to be going to menopause because she doesnt help out with anything anymore and makes you feel stupid.
if you make en effort in her class she'll make sure you pass. but asking questions in class doesn't do any good at all. she'll only repeat what she just said
as long as you pay attention in class and learn what she wants you to, she's a good teacher.
She makes students feel so inferior when they ask a question. And she wonders why nobody comes in during seminar. horrible teacher
Mrs. McDonald's class is kind of hard sometimes but she's so nice.
I hate her, I hate her, I hate her! This lady is SO mean, if I ask a question she make me feel so dumb and she is really rude! Not helpful, not understanding!
i hate this woman more than anything worst teacher i've had
Makes students feel dumb when they ask a question. Is known to favor swimmers and Math Club members.
she a great teacher that will go far and beyond to get the point across. what she's teaching is difficult to understand, but she knows what she's doing
McD is awesome. I had a nameless math teacher (Gyles) and he was HORRIBLE. she helped so much and my grade is dramatically better. hands down great teacher
Why is she teaching? Threatens student's with visits to the dean??? Is mean. Can't teach. Students know more than she does. Can't teach. Should be fired.
Nice...a pretty good teacher...not real hard...but not too easy.
she can be cool, and she can be a good teacher, she makes things really clear but she's not helpful. she makes you feel dumb if you ask a question
