I had Perno in the early 90's in AP class. The man knows more than what is on textbooks and he is not shy to let you know. If I knew then what I know now, I would have had the best political discussions with him. He makes you think outside the box. Board games were the best part when we finished all our duties. Even those made you think, like monopoly, risk, trivia pursuit. One of the best teachers. I wish he would have taught more outside of what the the textbooks said.
I was taught by perno back when he was young and new to the profession. He seems a bit neurotic and obsessed with vietnam but a good teacher, I value what he taught us to this day. Looking back, greatest teacher ever.
Best teacher I've ever had. His lectures were great and made me genuinely interested in history and social studies, an interest that continues some 20 years later.
He lectures literally all of the time. He needs other strategies.
The way he teaches is very interesting. People like him for his nonchalant but effective methods.
Interesting person, great teacher. Has the coolest stories, really relates to kids. He tries to put up a gruff exterior, but he's a big softie inside. Girls love him cause he's so sweet. A great man.
EXCELLENT! I learned so much from his AP Government, AP History and AP Economics. He doesn't talk down to you and he takes the time to make sure you get it. Amazing teacher! Hope he's doing well.
Easily the best teacher at American. Easiness at 2, because it does require effort to do well in his classes, but he should seriously write the books Economics and Am. Gov for Dummies.
Great teacher. Great Person. He helps you understand the material and makes learning interesting.
PERNO IS THE BEST TEACHER THAT AMERICAN WILL EVER HAVE.
Great teacher, just about the only thing that kept me from dropping out (that is, until I did).
