easy grader, sometimes boring and repetitive lectures, ok labs. pretty helpful. too bad he left us to sell houses...
Doesn't really teach, but he's a generous grader. If you don't study for the tests and don't pay attention in class, don't expect to get A on the tests.
tony robino is suchhhhhhhh a good teacher. hes so hood/fly.
he knows his topic, but does not understand what you are asking most of the time
i learn something once every 5 classes .... its a rare thing
KInda odd but pretty cool. I don't know but I hear hes really mean to some classes, but in our class he's in a pretty good mood. First time I've ever seen his teaching method, but he knows his stuff. (He teaches other teaches how to do bio...) We have some pretty good off-topic discussions in class sometimes which is nice.
His tests are hard. But he will give you EVERYTHING on the test. If you take an open note test (which you won't...) you will find every answer in your notes. He really knows what hes talking about, and he is a really cool guy. I hate, hate, hate bio but i enjoyed his class. Especially labs.
Teaching methods were new to me, doesn't give notes but gives diagrams. Bad with names but really cool guy
Knows more about biology than most teachers and is very knowledgable about it, but his teaching methods are a bit off...he likes to shove information at you and what is on the tests are either diagrams, the really important stuff, or the kind of stuff you need to gain an understanding of using outside materials (textbook) to study
Definitly knows his Biology. Very nice guy, likes to joke around and have fun with the material when we aren't rushing to get through it. At times his handouts on the overhead are impossible to read and he moves through them at a rate that noone can keep up with (when copying notes down). I usually felt prepared for the tests without studying and really knew what I was talking about on the essays (which are on each test). Available for morning help often if you need it. Kind of bad with names.
he knows his stuff...but his philosiphy is that he doesnt have enough time to teach so you have to teach yourself...the tests are easy if you read the text book, but the class is still alot of labs and other work
He is so bad. He doesn't teach at all. His jokes are not funny. He only uses overhead slides to teach and it's so dumbbbbbb. He comes to class late all of the time!! The class isn't too hard if you read the textbook because all he does it make his test using the textbook. Using the CD rom he give is helpful too for the tests, but I swear, if you are reading this and you are deciding if you want to switch to Achilly or have him, SWITCH. I didn't switch and now I'm stuck with him. =[.
everything on the tests he gives to you. just take thorough notes when he lectures and you will have prettymuch everything. Yes, the class is hard, but you will learn a LOT. Its a lot of material, but this is biology. you shouldn't expect any less. hes a nice guy, though.
ummmm i don't know how to explain him other than he loved to hate me.... ugh... he was mean.... he loved his flies though... =p
20 years ago as a junior at East, I had a then young Mr. Robino as my biology teacher. I always remembered him because he would pick on the weak, unpopular students in the class. He was also argumentative with the students. I am a teacher now in Philly, and I think of him when i think how NOT to treat a student. To be fair, he wasn't a bad teacher, he knew his biology, but the mean-spirited teasing always stayed with me.
robino is one of the hardest teachers in east, but i'm glad i had him. i think i stressed out and pulled all-nighters more for his class than any other class in high school. the book he uses is the same one my college prof uses in freshman bio. you may hate him, but you'll learn so much.
he shudnt be a teacher. he says im not going to teach you, you're goin to teach yourself. thenn why shud he get paid! his jokes are not funny. he laughs at himself
If your in school to learn biology, Mr. Robino is the man. Always challenges his students to be better.
NOT a good teacher...he has favorites, which means that you're screwed if he doesn't like you much...
He demands so much but as a result, going throught his class is a great thing to do your level jumps so much, great guy great teacher... I benifited so much
a man with an oversized ego... he teaches solely with powerpoint presentations and transparencies, and is incredibly difficult with unrealistic expectations
Robino is a very cool teacher. You have to have him to understand the way hes funny. A great teacher too!
I loved Robino when I was in high school. He is a demanding, passionate, and articulate teacher. One downside: he is into favoritism, although I benefited!
Biology is a hard class. Mr. R is a good techer but he makes the class even harder. Please explain and teach more details
hard class, but he's a good teacher if you get used to his style of teaching.
Great combo of trying to teach really fast AND having horrible handwriting. Its teachers like him that turn ppl off to a subject forevermore.
I hate science but I acutally learned bio from him. He really prepares the students for college and he is always going to stuff at colleges to teach currentinfo
i dropped the course to avoid him and his boring lectures
he hasn't taught me a thing all year, since i've had to teach everything to myself :[
The bottom line is that you're learning biology. Stop complaining!!
he doesn't understand what he's talking about. He is not the nicest man and everything has to be perfect!!
Mr. Robino is really nice and his class is very interesting.
robino, stop having favorites and realize that we are just students and do not understand everything the first time you say it!
please help us understand instead of assuming that we know everything.....please stop lecturing about the fungi kingdom it's sooooo boring (sorry, i don't find spores interesting)
Ok, he's not very popular, but if you go into his class every day with an open mind, you'll end up liking the guy. He's also always around before school whenever i have a question.
robino is a pretty good teacher and a nice person. i just wish he graded things faster. Its hard to know what your grade is when it takes two months to get a test back.
He is a cool guy! Sometimes he can be pretty harsh though... He needs to help the students out more! He should start actually teaching instead of lecturing with transparencies, and he needs to grade faster!
Be grateful that you have a teacher who cares about biology!
The class is straight lecturing and he's a bad teacher but he's an ok person
nice and smart but expects too much and needs to help more
Is passionate about bio and makes students want to learn more. amazing teacher
he doesnt teach well, but requires so much that students end up learning.
so much work but never too hard. he was tough but hey, i know my bio
cool guy once you finish his class. Good prep for higher level too
STOP WHINING! His class is soooo good, it is even good prep for the MCAT!!
Needs to listen to students questions instead of assuming
anyone who wants to go into medicine will appreciate him
He isn't bad.... just strict and tough... once you get used to it...its easy!!!!
Might not like him now, but he's a godsend first semester frosh bio in college.
