Pretty nice but also very hard to hear. Always usually pretty quiet and every now and then he'll get in a bad mood. Easy class with a good routine though so I can't complain.
When I first saw on my schedule that I had Sr. Losada as my Spanish 3 teacher for the year I was disappointed because I heard some bad things about him as a teacher, but I think I have been proven wrong. I can clearly see why you don't want him for Spanish 1 or 2, as he gives a lot of work for Spanish 2, and if you're just getting started with Spanish, he doesn't seem like he should be a Spanish 1 teacher. But if you're in Spanish 3 and are familiar enough with Spanish, he's great for that.
The simple fact is that he's too soft-spoken and not helpful towards achieving your learning goals. He's a great guy but learning a language is not effective in his class. As an academically advanced student, his teaching style is flawed and needs improvement. You lose points for unfamiliarity or confusion. It's entirely based off your personal abilities and flawless consistency, which makes the class itself useless towards any advancement. Very slow paced and confusing. Truly upsetting.
The man can barely even speak English. It's impossible to pass his class because he stumbles through anything he says in English. Also we watched too many movies in that class that were one hundred percent English he only showed them because they were about hispanic people.
Mr. Losada is a great teacher. I had him for two years and I learned more from him than I did the other two Spanish teachers at Rio. He runs a tight ship, but you learn a lot from him.
If you get him in Spanish 2 and you just want to pass the class then switch out. However if you are in there to actually learn Spanish, he is the man. Mr.Losada can be hard sometimes but boy will you learn a lot. We are just halfway through the semester and we already learned so much. The orals will help you big time. Mr.Losada is one of the best teachers ever.
his accent is too heavy and he should not be teaching to people who are learning the basics of spanish.
I had Mr. Losada for freshman spanish and he didnt teach us anything we just watched videos and orals and that is how we had to learn. This teacher also has a short temper and is sometimes hard to understand. I feel Antonio needs to teach and not just play videos to get by the year
had him for spanish 3. he is very annoying does not care at ALL about the students. although he does show a few interesting movies. if you pay attention u might learn sumthing about mexico at least when i had him. does not help the students, is rude and no one can hear him because he mumbles. each year he seems to have less and less interest and only in watching his show el internado
I had him for Spanish 3 and then AP Spanish the following year. He in no way prepares you for the AP test. He promised he would change our 2nd semester grade and then he changed his mind. After I talked to him he promised he would change them, but my mom had to send an email to remind him (and this is months after he receives the AP scores). In all honesty, he never taught the class. At all. His class doesn't require much work but is hard to get an A. He's the worst teacher I've ever had.
Spanish 3. Horribly rude, intimidates students, and doesn't teach! No sense of humor, will not help students in any way. His class is passable, if you're a self learner. Very disrespectful, I remember one incident when we were doing class work, and I had finished mine early and had already completed that night's homework for the class. I pulled out a book to read, and he came up to me, yanked the book out of my hand, and dropped it on the floor. Glared at me entire time to intimidate me.
Not good at teaching spanish 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He needs to learn how to teach instead of expecting people to just know the information.
Extremely rude . Makes a habit of intimidating students. Poor overall teaching ability.Horrible grading system. Had him for spanish 3.
He is good if you get him for Spanish 3 or AP. He teaches imersively, so strong Spanish comprehension is vital to passing his class; personally I think he shouldn't teach Spanish 1 with it, but he is a great Spanish AP Teacher. Of all of the Spanish teachers at Rio, he is the best for advanced Spanish, and his class is pretty fun. Lots of reading, watching Spanish TV, and little homework. Avoid him for Spanish 1 if you can, or if not, Buena Suerte. However, if you have a choice for Spanish 3, take him.
I think he should learn english a little better... while standing in fornt of class for ten minuites trying to think of some word in english... you need to be able to communicate when teaching a bunch of english speaking kids!
He doesn't teach and is very hard to understand. I like the calendarios but it's really stupid that you don't get points for doing homework. The class is pretty hard and he never shows grades unless y
Not the best Spanish teacher in my life. Doesn't teach, hard to understand, and gives detentions if you're off-task during DOWN time. I mean, come on! Oh, and you don't get homework points.
I like the fact that Losada does things in routine. It seems like a reeeeally heavy load at first, but i like expecting the same thing each week. Also, i like the homework calandarios
he doesn't use points. he pulls your grade out of thin air. if you ask for your grade, chances are he won't tell you, EVERYTHING is peer graded..very bad. learned a lot, lots of work, didnt like him
I've only had Senor Losada for about 2 weeks now, but I've already learned more in these two weeks then i did all of last year. He is an incredibly good teacher, I'm now even considering AP next year.
you'll actually learn in his class...and a lot at that! his classes seem very hard at first but he relaxes and you do get to do fun things once in a while. definitely try to get into his classes.
funny fair. and u actually learn a lot. may be tough at first but its all worth it.
Good teacher. He cares for his students, is willing to answer any question, and is tolerant of ignorance. My only complaint is the large amount of random work. Well done!
Losada is so awesome! he is hilarious and he's an absolutely outstanding teacher. I mean, I'm actually learning something. Most likely the best Spanish teacher at Rio.
Losada's a great teacher!! He's really funny and his tests are pretty easy..and you can use notes on most of them! I had him for Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 and I feel like I'm already fluent in Spanish!
hes a veryy good teacher, but also can be a pain when it comes to the socal aspect of class
Mr. Losada is the funniest guy ever. Ive been a pain for him too, all the misunderstandings. Now for next semester.
Losada is all right. He doesn't know how to teach. He knows his stuff though. He is occasionally funny. He likes making fun of people.
one of the top 5 or so teachers ive ever had- i got a 4 on the AP, and i always considered myself in the lower 25% of the class. just the right amount of work.
great spanish teacher, not so great at english but occasionally funny
I think im the only person that hates Losada, but if you start out as a bad student, he definately doesn't like you the rest of the year.
Pretty funny guy. His class appears to be hard cause you have to understand wut your doing. But if u do ur hw and make a test card ur golden
If you ever want to learn Spanish well he is incredible, he helps you understand the language and know how to cover lots of different material, funny too,
the AP test was incredibly easy after his class- hes really funny, too. i actually looked forward to spanish every day.
senor losada is the BEST. people say his class is hard, but its actually very routine, and you can use notes on all the tests. funny funny guy.
This guy was hard, But Funny dude.make sure and participate. also heard somewhere that he was a baller in futbol and can tear even Beckham up.
most of his tests are hard but he's really funny and a great spanish speaker-especially since he grew up in spain!
Losada, Losada, i would say he is strange at times, but its great speaking spanish with him, makes u feel like u are spanish!!
Quiero senor Losada mucho!! He is so funny and so sweet. He knows what he is doing and is a blast to be around, he makes me want to take AP next year
The class is TOTALLY routine, and you can still manage to actually learn. He's pretty funny too. At times, class may be boring, but 'sall good.
Sr Losada is cool! Students learn a lot in his class. He doesn't really keep track of grades, so if you bribe him he'll give you a good grade.
Losada is the best. He's funny, nice, knows his stuff, and makes it entertaining. We actually learn an have a good time, a novel experience at rio.
Senor rocks, he really funny and once you understand how the class works, it all falls in to place.
Mr. Losada was great. I learned a lot in his Spanish class, as well as had fun. Take his class, definitely.
Nicest guy and makes Spanish worth learning. Interacts with his students very well, and has something different from other teachers which just makes him awesome.
not as bad as you would think. he's actually really funny and makes the BEST faces. i'm afraid to ask questions.. but its not a problem.. because the few things he does explain he explains well. for the most part, you teach yourself. and its not so bad :)
Very funny, good for students who can handle the language well.
the orals are scary sometimes but he has the greatest jokes that you would never expect a teacher to say! and you don't really have to do your HW by the next day either, just as long as you have it done by quiz day
I have learned soooo much with Sr.Losada, a jewel. If you are lucky enough to have him, enjoy!
Great Movies and you get to see kids make fools of them self
