He needs to use textbooks
Mr. Buckley is by far the best teacher I have had so far. His lectures are engaging and interesting. To be successful in his class it is crucial that you actually want to be successful. Apply yourself and actually give an effort and you will learn so much more from Mr. Buckley. This class has taught me critical thinking skills that will follow me for the rest of my life. He teaches not only Theology, but also how to analyze. I am appreciative for all the knowledge gained from Mr. Buckley.
I loved Mr. Buckley's class! He has a ton of experience, and does his job well. Also, the oral test is not that bad, just be prepared!
HE SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!
He has helped shape me as a young student and inspired me to challenge myself in every way. Thanks Br Buckley!
Actually St. Agnes has not discontinued the oral exam, though they should due to the disproportional amount of pressure that it puts on students and Buckley is not even prepared to properly administer a simple test, much less an oral exam. We are told that because theology is not even VIEWED by most colleges, we would not have to take midterms or finals in this class but Buckley labels a massive test at the end of quarter two, MIDTERM, he takes himself to seriously its hilarious.
He is a teacher who at some moments i think just talks for the sake of hearing his own voice never listens to students and is never clear on what to study.
complete nonsense he contradicts himself daily and has no communication skills or personality
I am sad to say that my experience with Arthur Buckley has not been a good one, he never listens to students, has a horrible grading system and lectures constantly. and is very annoying
Mr. Buckley = the worst teacher I have ever had never helps the students at all terrible lessons even worse tests how is he still teaching?
I expect high things out of a theology department, but it is saddening to see that teachers like Mr. Buckley can get away with teaching, he never listens to students and comes off as extremely conceited, he is also very annoying i do not recommend Mr. Buckley to anyone
Mr. Buckley is a very repetitive teacher it seems like every lesson he teaches is the same one that we heard yesterday he never listens to his students and he is only interested in proving his point even if it is senseless, he gets away with not using a textbook while other classes have them and his tests are unstructured and abysmal. I am VERY disappointed in this so called "teacher".
He has not taught my student well at all and has never taken time to correct flaws with his teaching methods.
He is not clear at all on what to study, he only has two exams per semester and his grades for participation are not veritable and can make your average drop depending on what he thinks, though compared to other students your average is exponentially lower, even if you study or ask the same amount of questions as them, also on his exams you can sometimes have only 6 seconds per 150 questions on an exam, lacking the judgement of an informed test procter. My average went from an A to a C!!
if you have buckley for freshman year theology, good luck!!!! dont worry, we alll survive the oral test and i actually think the school discontinued the oral test because too much stress so you got out of it yay!!! i met two of my BEST FRIENDS in this class and it is definitely one you will remember forever!!!! we r already but not yet ;)
Mr. Buckley is a great teacher and he is very informative, but it is a VERY hard course! Make friends so that you can all study and suffer together. Hope you enjoy your year with him (bubble hehe)
Buckley has a hard class (with the daily quizzes and all the notes) but it's normally an interesting class! Relates with the students a lot, tells great stories, and is an all around funny guy!
Mr. Buckley was one of my favorite teachers freshman year! It's funny because he connected with you so well but wasn't helpful when you needed extra explanation, as if there was a barrier between us and a really interesting person. There were a lot of girls who complained and had horrible grades but it was only because they refused to study. If you do study and devote a lot of time to the class, you can get a high A and an 100 on the oral test!!
Best Theology Teacher i ever had (in 9 years- I'm just a freshman) He makes you think -he is whee he belongs- In a catholic college prep school His class is not at all boring he keeps you focused Keeps you knowledgeable- caught up on what we are learning and you don't even have to try that hard- there IS a quiz almost every day that's not a weird schedule or anything and those keep people on top of their stuff and he drills things in your brain without much effort Funny
hard class but great teacher. explains concepts very well
Mr Buckley is one reason why I became a teacher. He makes you think independently and stretches your mind to its limits, bursting bubbles of theology while filling your mind with rational thinking using the Socratic method.
The man is a good teacher and he is quite easy if you pay attention. He sucks at helping students. If you're absent one day, you can forget getting help from this man. You have to get it from friends so make friends in his class! Don't let his stupid Oral Test scare you. You know the material and he guides you through the answers... Just be confident. The man is awful in my opinion though and I wouldn't take his class again.
Mr, Buckley is the best teacher eva! No wonder he got the best teacher award! His oral test is so scary! But he is so sweet with giving us the gifts and the word Bubble!
current student. excellent teacher. difficult but worth the effort. very realistic and easy to like. definitely gave me more than a religious education - prepared me for life.
hardest course i ever took in my life - scripture - definetally the best teacher i've ever had. i love him
Mr. Buckley is the most awsome teacher! He really helps you understand what he is teaching and i have never ever been bored in his class or drifted off!!
mr b is awesome! i had him for scripture and i learned SO much. he is really nice 2. one of the few teachers i've met who actually understands what life is like
i loved mr buckley! i went to saa for one year and then had to move but he really made me think and i really learned alot about scripture and outlooks on life!
isnane how much i learned ... hard class but ive never loved ne class so much ... take it helps you prepare for rest of saa career too wah
I am an ex-student of Mr. Buckley's and I really loved him. I know he is a great choir teacher and a scripture teacher. He prepares you for the real world.
mr. buckley really makes you think and although he is harder than the other scripture teachers-he is def. the best teacher ive ever had. LOVE YOU THIS MUCH!
BUCKLEY'S AWESOME! He makes the class SOO much more fun! He actually teaches and relates things in modern day terms. LOVE YOU! Mean it!
Great teacher! Former SJ student who took his class for a semester. Easily the best teacher I ever had at either school.
buckley is my choir director. hes been very encouraging for all of my voice related activities outside of school. he can have bad days.. but dont we all?
As an ex student of his....Buckley totally prepares you for the real world.....awesome teacher!
