Best English teacher I ever had. I had him after having been failed the previous semester by Howard Benedict (Howard gave me F's on everything with no marks on papers or tests and would not discuss why). Maybe Howard failing me was the best thing that ever happened (as he was clueless in the extreme) and I learned as much with Ben Gordon in one semester as I had learned the previous 3.5 years with other, far less qualified English teachers at NCHS.
It's awful that we're losing him--best teacher I've ever had.
the best teacher i have ever had, devastated to hear that he will be retiring after this year.
I love this man more than anything. He's absolutely brilliant, and he'll just come into class sometimes and say "Isn't it great to be alive?" Literally.
I had him 15 years ago - and still think about his class. What an inspiration. NCHS is lucky to have him.
Great guy, great class. Lots of quizes, but you do learn a lot in it.
He's great! A college prof in a high school teacher's position. It was good for me to have him as a teacher.
A nice guy, very intelligent, and reasonably helpful... very tough on grading though. Not much homework or anything but he likes to give papers and has his own unique style of writing/evaluating that he grades you by that takes some getting used to.
A little bizarre, but he's nice & a good teacher...a 2nd year with him is best
He's brilliant, but awful. He was always looking at me! Or...was he?
ok teacher; no desks so you can't fall asleep even though you really want to.
forces you to come to terms with the fact that your still 99% illiterate
As President of the C Club, I wish I had known more about bees and baseball
You take what you put in. Work hard, and learn a lot. It's worth it!
