Strong Teacher preps students for College, no holds, expects the VERY best from every student and gets great results, as such as parents we love her. She has stretched my son to be better than he was and he was already very good. Students complain she expects alot from them, but as a parent I like that she get them where they didnt think they could get to. Solid pro on HOSA, excellent teacher
She expects you to work hard and solve your own problems. She will never give you an answer directly, but she will point you to the resources that will get you to it. If you do that, you'll be fine. :
Chemistry, the course itself is hard but she explains the material clearly and in nice manner. NOT a BS class tests are extremely hard but not impossible, if you just listen n class read text and foc
Awesome person... if you go after school she will help you to the point of annoyance haha... i had a question and it took me three hours to get out of there.. but i also had a eye opening revelation..
Those of your that were upset probably couldn't handle the rigor of a college level course with a teacher that actually expects you to work. If this was too much may I suggest college isn't for you.
I feel like she's only a "good teacher" because her tests are ridiculously hard and make you study. But other than that, she doesn't really TEACH that much. Just puts on a ppt by some other teacher
Difficult class. The only reason I got a solid A was because I read the textbook. Don't stay after school for extra help--you will be there well into the evening. Work hard--this is no BS course!
Hard class. No doubt about that but chemistry is always hard. You won't find an easy chemistry class there is no such thing.
One of the most difficult teachers I've had, but I learned a lot more in her class than a lot of others. You may complain while you're in her class but you won't regret it afterward.
She is very vague about assignments. She knows what she's doing but isn't the greatest at conveying it to students. She's really weird, Hard class. However, if you work hard an A is possible :-/
Her class is super-hard, but she is really helpful if you go talk to her after class. Willing to do whatever it takes to help you understand the material. She has no tolerance for slackers though!
Her class is not one to take lightly, regardless of what class you're in. She is tough and sometimes intimidating, but I promise you you will be grateful someday.
She's friendly if you ask for help. Can't stand it if you don't try. Hard class, but pays of lots! As in, go to AP chem and everything's cake. :D
If you put in the work, read, etc., Koester is fine. Sometimes she can seem unfair, and her tests aren't easy, but you'll come out of her class smarter.
Honors Chem was sweet ... Koester's an awesome teacher, but she can't deal with stupid people ... which i guess is justified ...
She is a dedicated and excellent teacher. Her chemistry class is very challenging and the students really learn the material. They are prepared for college chemistry.
koester is cool =] she wont be mean to you if you do the homework and pay attention
Definitely among the most experienced teachers at DV. If you put a minimum effort, you should gain a great knowledge for college.
She's so insensitive to ppls feelings and cruel, always snapping at people. Sumtimes she'd suprise me by being nice tho; she's either really nice or really mean
This is the worse class ever. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN IF YOU WANT TO LIVE
Koester- phew! that's a class no one can miss... but not for liking it at all.she is a cool person, a strict but productive teacher.she made me cry once too....
the only thing i left that class knowing is that she used to be a chemist and made lots of money but now teaches and is a LITTLE bitter about the no money thing
Sorry i dont know the molarity of sodium chloride off the top of my head...
Class is hard but informative. Need to know what the density of water is to pass.
