Speaking as an AP Stats student from the 15-16 school year--I did not rely on ANY external sources (besides past AP FR questions) to study for the AP Stats exam and received a 5. College students who had her years ago continue to reference her notes. Some may feel she grades quite harshly & a few tests are extremely rushed, but she does curve, you will get to eat tons of candy, and the AP test will be a breeze. You will learn concepts and techniques you will use for the rest of your life!

Mrs. Rothfuss embodies the success of the Irvington Math department. She is probably one of the most reasonable teachers on campus and gives ample opportunities to succeed in her class. The AP Calc AB class requires little self-studying outside her room on most of the lessons and the review materials are enough a to prepare for a 5 on the AB exam. She also does a good job to support those students studying for BC.

For Despite my mediocre grades in AP stats I never regret taking the class. I learned a lot and got a very easy 5 on the AP exam. She is clear on what she expects and what AP graders expect. The class overall was fun other than going over brief notes

She made stats clear to me and was always able to answer questions. She is a genuinely nice person and takes the time to explain things. If you study and do the homework, you should do well in the class. She is picky on tests, but she is clear about what she wants beforehand. Study the notes!

Rothfuss is very intelligent and knows her stuff well. She sometimes goes at a faster pace than is comfortable for some students, and the tests and quizzes can be pretty difficult, but she is fair and will drop one test and one quiz in the first semester, at least. You have to work hard, but she prepares you for the AP test pretty well. She has a good sense of humor and is overall a good teacher.

She was a very tough teacher. I got a 3 on my AP calculus AB exam, but I failed her class. She was very nice enough to give me credit for the class due to my score of 3 on my AP test. I'd say anyone who is planning on taking Calculus with her should definitely know 80 percent of the material already and be able to answer most calculus questions one may ask you. If this is the case, you'll likely get an A in her class. You have been warned!!!

She relies almost entirely on powerpoints for teaching making lectures unclear and harder to follow. You have to go in on your own time to ask for help, and even then it's rarely beneficial.

Her teaching method focuses solely on her typed powerpoints instead of writing things out. It's IMPOSSIBLE to take good notes. Her tests are hard if you don't understand stuff. Not very helpful.
