Let me start by saying Bram is unlike any teacher you will have in highschool. While knowledgeable, he is particular to no end and is at many times unclear about what he wants (and is upset when you can't magically figure out what that is). His classes consist of 25% lengthy, boring lectures and 75% class discussions in which he does not participate. In addition, his tests are impossible and his study guides are broader than the question "What is the meaning of life?"
Bram taught me Anthropology (in 8th grade), World History (in 10th grade) and an Islamic Societies elective (12th grade), and he was my advisor. It's been five years, but I still consider Bram among the best instructor's I've had. Bram's definitely got some strong opinions, but I don't think his politics affect his grading. He's extremely knowledgable and, unlike most highschool instructors, makes and keeps lasting relationships with students outside of class.
Just though I would interject my opinion among all of the negative reviews.
He knows his stuff, but his class is really tough to get an A in. He's really big on his opinions too.. so just agree with him, really.
Bram is biased. If he doesn't like you it is much harder to get a good grade.
Bram is the ONLY teacher at this school who prepares you for college at all. Take his classes, take advantage of real learning at Friends...it's difficult to get.
Bram is my life. He is so cool. He really does know all the students. He is more like a kid. Its awesome.
Bram's alright. He has a huge ego and his class is boring but sometimes he can be funny.
Bram is overall amazing. His class is the most fun I think you'll ever have. If you really love history, though, I think you'll be disappointed.
Bram is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He is not funny even though he trys to be and he is very egotistical. Try not to be in his class.
bram is the most understanding teacher ever. he really knows the students.
