While his class caused me great stress, there are certain topics in physics that I will never forget because of him. I feel like I always had a solid understanding of the material AFTER each of his tests. I think he did this by design so that maybe we struggled in his class, but that we would have a solid understanding by the end of the year. I know my physics professor next year won't come close.
So happy to have had him before he retires! My favorite class on Day 2!
His class is awesome. Oooh Mr. Murray! Love him! Do your work children and you will pass this class! I found his class super easy.
He is not that difficult if you do the textbook problems and all problems he gives you. Everyone complains but they don't do the work.
UGH. His class was so difficult! He's so arrogant too; he thinks he's the greatest teacher in the world, but he isn't. The majority of his tests were much more difficult than his notes. His handwriting is horrendous too. I walked out with an A and a double 5s on the AP exams but I'd be lying if I said it was because of him.
First of all, Physics is the hardest course in high school, especially Physics C (accompanied with the three wonderful phases of Magnetism). Mr.Murray really tries to help his students but it is hard to grasp his teaching method. Although his class is difficult and he could do much better teaching, I love him. Where would we be without his "wild parties" and other stuff.. Really funny guy. By the way. He loves half days and facts. Remember that. Oh and he adores carnivals. A lot. Cheers
Extremely difficult teacher, but is always willing to help students.
He made me dread going to school. I would of learned more by having an English teacher explain his countless packets to me. Sitting in his class was a waste of time, and I wish he would of taught more and complained less.
The only was I was able to pay attention in that class was when he told stories that weren't at all related to physics.
Mr. Murray is a wonderful physics teacher, even better now that he's fully recovered. He supplements the material with anecdotes and makes sure those who can understand the material, do. The AP Physics exams are a breeze after taking his classes.
Still needs to go to prom with John... .
never going to be as bauss as he was before he got sick, but he comes close
Mr Murray is an inspiration to us all. I think that he is the best teacher I have encountered in my high school career.
well, Murray really was awesome. He was weakened by his illness last year and never really got anywhere close to how awesome he was before that. Still a good teacher though
Murray si awesome, despite what the people below say, he hates the administration, becuase most of the stuff they do REALLY is stupid. he stays because he cares about the students
HARDEST CLASS EVER FOR JUNIORS BUT BESTTT TEACHER TO TEACH IT!
one word: negative. If you hate the school and the administration so much then leave!!
he needs to quit while he's ahead and retire. he hates it here.
Despite an insanely difficult year, Mr.Murray continued to be a fun and committed teacher that loves his job (most of the time ^_~). His lessons can be a bit confusing if you don't read the book or do the homework before the lectures, though, because he doesn't start at the very basics. As long as you come prepared and take his class seriously, he will be your best friend. If you put forth effort, you'll get a 5 on the AP exam
knows so much about physics that its ridiculous but can sometimes be confusing in his explanations.
all the greatest physics teachers are named brian, murray was my first brian... and i'll never forget him.... another BAMF
murray is way smarter than you'll ever realize, you uncultured simpletons
Definitely knows physics. PAY ATTENTION AND KEEP UP WITH THE WORK or you're in for a rough year....
Okay, I don't learn (practically) anything from listening to Mr. Murray in class. I have to read the textbooks, do the packets, ask friends, etc, to even have hope of getting a good grade in his class. He's a cool teacher, i suppose, but it's a really hard class, but I think some people are naturally good at it, seriously.
Murray... Murrdawg... Murrman... Ol' Mr. Krabs.... the father of the Muffin Man himself... Whatever he is, he's an amazing teacher and an awesome person.
Murray is amazing. I learned so much just from listening to him. by doing no homework, and studying very little, i got a 4 on the ap exam. and he won the 2006 award for MIT. and in 2004 he was on the us physics team.
Amazing. Prepares you extremely well for AP and IB exams - I got 5s on AP, 6 on IBHL. Inspired me to major in Physics. Talented lecturer, loves his work. Belongs in a university, not a high school.
By far the most fun teacher at the school, and probably the only thing actually resisting what the administration is doing to the school. He teaches a very hard subject, so pay attention, or do lots of work on your own at home, otherwise you're screwed.
Awesome teacher. His intelligence and good nature makes physics bearable for even the least talented students. I've never met anyone who didn't love his classes.
Murdawg is a great teacher. He's given me a great "Physics toolbox," always treated me fairly, and certainly prepared me to do well as a physics major at the US Air Force Academy.
His tests are ridiculously easy, but he somehow manages to prepare us well for the exams anyway. He's really dedicated to his students; he'll often come after school and teach us physics or do so during some period the whole class can skip. Like Mr. Hale, he's good at acting up to impress students--I suppose it comes from having taught for a long, long time. He's a cool guy, and one of the best teachers at Suncoast.
Mr. Murray is amazingly nice, funny and knowledgeable. Apart from being a wonderful physics teacher, he is also a mentor whose life experience and wisdom is transferred on to us through his philosophical discourse which we are exposed to after having thoroughly covered the educational material. He is nothing short of awesome. :)
One of the most amazing teachers ever. Great guy who makes physics approachable, even though the material isn't the easiest. Prepares you well for the AP/IB exams. Videos fun too!
super cool teacher but the class is kinda/ REALLY hard..... you cant dabble, but if you have your physics tool box you'll make it!! (unless you have aliens with mohawks in your class that throw off the curve).
Awesome teacher. Knows the material very well and presents it in a way that forces you to pay attention and LEARN it. Although, he started using odd numbers in his sample problems to stop me from finding shortcuts, about halfway through the year. --------------------By the way, the square root of dog is between 102 and 106, usually around 104 or 105. Just so you know. 8)
He is one of the best teachers you can have at Suncoast. Okay, more like the one of the best in the county...state...country...world. Come on! You know it's true. He's amazing. MURDAWG!!!
Awful. Unprofessional and ultimately not suited to classroom teaching. Would be better as a tutor.
Thinks & acts like he's one of the students. At times rather immature and passive agressive. Has teacher's pets and tends to ignore others, as a CS/IB student previously mentioned
Undoubtedly the best AP Physics B teacher I've ever had. Also the worst, by the way.
I think I was one of the few CS students to have passed the AP Physics B exam. He is a concise teacher, and helps you when you ask for it, but hates CS and IB kids in general.
Does anybody know the square root of dog? anybody? no? well, then the answer must be tangent.
i ran down the mountain but at the bottom all i found was a puddle of empty cars
Coolest Teacher in the World!!! and hes a pirate on the weekends too :)
