BEST TEACHER EVER, one of the only teachers I can actually relate to and feel comfortable with.
After being in concert band for four years, I have some things to say. Mr. Nutting picks favorites ALL THE TIME, his audition process is extremely messed up, chooses who he wants in his upper bands before he even auditions anybody, so don't bother trying out. If you don't get on his "good side" then he'll hate you for the rest of high school. He has created an extremely large program that had its feeling of friendship replaced by cut-throat competition. THS bands are slowly failing bc of him.
Very passionate about music and marching. Completely unbiased testing. Very knowledgable and helpful. Caring; enjoys talking to students. Extremely inspirational. Brings out the very best in every student. The middle school directors may be horrible, but it's worth pushing through to get to Mr. Nutting.
Mr. Nutting is an outstanding role model for students, especially those wanting to go into music. Although it may seem that he is difficult or irritable, it is only because he is looking out for the best interest of the program and his students. Very great person to talk to, and is more than willing to help a student out.
Hes an outstanding teacher and musician. He's patient. He does give a lot of playing tests but gives you enough time to prepare for it.
Mr. Nutting is a very good teacher in general, but he lacks something in the department of the students. He touts his students a lot, but in reality he focuses on a couple for his pet projects. If you are not one of those students, it can be tough getting a break. So either be really talented or get in with him freshman year, or else be prepared to be just another peg in his 185 member student organization.
MR. Nutting in his quest for perfection has lost his humanity. The greater end product does not justify the means. Treating people with human dignity and respect has been lost.
I love him. He picks the best halftime shows and halftime show music. He picks relatively good songs for concert music.
I think he has the best of intentions but he does pick favorites!
he's the best teacher i've ever had. he's good at teaching music, he's funny and level-headed, and he's encouraging.
he's all about the conflict avoidance, and it is annoying how people WORSHIP him.
he doesn't just teach you, he's one of my main sources of guidance, inspiration, and support. one of the best i've had thus far.
all i can say is that you'll love band. a lot more fun that orchestra could ever be.
coolest band teacher. he makes band fun.. really fun.
hard but good. pushes you beyond what you thought you couldn't do.
he changed my whole way of thinking when he came along. he's the best
concertband is equal/above to a typical symphband. infact, we play harder stuff than some colleges.indirectly picks favorites but it doesnt affect seatings.overall amazing teacher
the only complaint is you can't read the guy. BUT HE IS AMAZING as a band teacher
i remember in middle school, my band teacher used to give us the easy stuff we knew we could do. he didn't push us at all. Mr. Nutting pushes us, but not off the extent. :) rock on
Mr. Nutting is probably the best teacher I will ever have. He is dedicated to us and the band. He means buisness when it is time, but he is definately fun.
UNFAIRLY PICKS FAVORITES while ignoring others. Depends on who your parents are, or what you look like.
He told us that we are the best campus band he's had, but he gave us WAY too easy music and we all knew it.
nutting is amazing. knows his stuff. hilarious. and u acutally feel like you can go to him with your problems
Unbelievable. The man is a real inspiration to serious music students. The guy is more than qualified for his position. He does pick favorites, though.
i dont get these people... yeah he is cool at times but he really picks his favorites
used to teach at lahser, picked good music but flamboyant at times
