Brother Carl was a great principal. The last couple years the school was not how it was supposed to be when he was principal. The kids disrespected the teachers. The kids acted bad.
I didn't know Brother Carl that well but I sure miss him. The school felt like a safe, caring place with him. Now it feels cold and rigid. Some people said he wasn't effective but I think he glued this place together more than people realized. He always had his camera showing us that he supported us and smiled at each cadet and let us know he cared about us. We were individuals to him, not "Prophets." He visited once this year and everyone was so happy to see him. Kind to parents too.
I never thought I would say this because it was time for him to retire, but I miss Brother Carl. He filled the school with love, joy, inclusion, kindness and all things good. It is a dark time for LSI now. I hope the school can survive this. At a time when we need to move forward with instruction and academics we are down a completely different path.
he's the principal now. comp sci with his was interesting but not very useful.
