Expect this class to push you. Most classes are pretty easy to fly through and get an A, but this is one of the only classes that forced me to really put in effort to get a good grade. She is a harsh grader and I barely got an A- in her class. In the beginning, I started getting 2s on my timed writes and at the end was able to get a high 7 and low 8 on my final. It wasn't easy and took a lot of careful reading and writing, but if you put in the time, you will get the grade you deserve!

She's a true Spartan. She will tell you in your face that you suck at English. But that's okay, because she is there to help you suck less at English. Granted her homework load is definitely overwhelming with having multiple essays overlap at once. She will make sure that your homework folder is your English folder with a bit of Calculus and AP Physics homework. She likes to see you suffer but she also likes to see you grow. And you get extra points if you can catch her puns.

She is the very definition of tough love. She makes you work hard so that we learn. I argued a lot with her, but she still wrote me a letter of recommendation. Take her class if you want your writing skills and reading comprehension to increase.

Don't let the rumors scare you; Ms. Courey is one of the best teachers ever. Her homework load can get kind of crazy, but she knows AP Lang inside and out and she's truly a really nice and funny person. She will make sure you pass the AP Lang test.

Ms. Courey is one of the best teachers on Wilcox campus. She's so compassionate and knowledgeable. She knows what she's talking about and she knows how to teach it. She's hard but she's one of the few teachers that care about their students.

She does her job - gets you to learn and prepare for the AP Test. But good teachers get to know the students. Not a comfortable learning environment. Go next door and sit in on a class in guttadauros.

ms courey is the reason i can write. she's an amazing teacher and i would not be the amazing writer i am now if it hadn't been for her. she's the reason i got into college. otherwise my essays would have sucked. she may be a bit brash and she is blunt but she's the best english teacher you'll ever have.

Very good teacher in retrospect. The importance of double spacing, using one inch margins, and correct headings are more apparent in college. Never forget to format my papers correctly because of Ms. Courey.

I love her. Best English Teacher Ever. Very strict and very tough though, but you learn. Alot. Unlike with Joan Owen who I had the following year. Hated her first semester than came to terms with her

She is an AMAZING teacher! Many people misrepresent her frank and candid personality with meaness. But she cares so much for her students. I never would have gotten a 5 on the AP test without her

Ms. Courey is the first teacher I've had that 100% cares about helping the students succeed. It was under her teaching that I saw myself grow as a writer and build confidence in what is now my major.

Whenever she teaches, it feels like she doesn't want to. Maybe if she wasn't as harsh and strict (not to mention a better attitude), people might actually like her and class wouldn't be as chaotic.
