Not patient with students
Honestly, he doesn't seem like a good teacher. I mean he's funny and all with his stories. He's got a weird thing for coffee. You basically have to learn on your own. Blankenhorn doesn't teach you much, trust me. i only have like 6 pages worth of notes and were already a month into the 2nd semester. I still don't get proofs, never gave a detailed explanation. Frankly, i find that all the geometry teachers at Schurr don't teach. Honors geo is at the same pace as us, and im a freshman in geometry.
I am currently taking Pre-Cal with this guy and when he teaches he basically talks to himself when he "teaches". He gives you zero review for the test and basically expects you to learn by yourself. I believe tho however he is a qualified teacher for basic mathematics for high school students who don't really understand math at all. He has funny stories however he cant teach well and expects you to know everything. He also doesn't like answering questions you may ask in class.
Thought me a lot. If it wasn't for him, i probably would've dropped out. Thank you blankenhorn.
He's adequate when you tell him to help you. He does have a fetish for coffee
Fair instructor who cares enough to assign grades based on progress and performance rather than standard % based metrics.
I had Mr. Blankenhorn for senior math, so i really can't say he is a great educator in terms of teaching and actually learning hard arithmetic problems and stuff like that, but i did learn a lot about life from this guy that related to everything i needed to know once i hit the real world, and it came in helpful now that i have graduated. he even helped me overcome a personal problem which i greatly thank him for. awesome teacher!!! and great stories, funny guy :) -Jairo (Crackbaby) class of '12
Ive had him 2 years in a row and to sum it all up you got to study and review on your own. he is getting better at teaching more and will do a lot to help you pass the class. Funny guy.
He's okay at times in the year, especially with his random stories . He's entertaining, but in teaching he makes his lessons a bit too complicated. I liked him and he does help a lot.
he's super cool cuz he's like a teacher, and even a friend at times. you can talk to this guy :D
I will never regret the day I chose Mr. Blankenhorn over that AWEFULL teacher Mr. Bencomo! I did slack off alot but if you go to tutoring, take notes, and he knows you are trying he WILL pass YOU! Really funny and a kind man.
He is a great math teacher, not the best I've had but definitely in the top 3. He's perty cool.
He is very disorganized and isn't a very good teacher. Although he's pretty fun, he doesn't always come across as clear in the lesson and moves extremely quickly. I really like how he explains the homework.
dude give us notes an examples, i heard that galima is a better math teacher, she actually gives notes and examples. i wish i could be in that class
A glorious day when we found out that he was not going to be back this year. Hope he never comes back. Why does he teach when he obviously doesn't care about student?
He's cool if you joke around with him. His laziness rubs off an you throughtout the school year.
he makes good jokes, he is just disorganized, and he treats you as a college student (AP Calculus)
does he try to be a bad teacher? or does it just come naturally?
Man, this fool doesnt know how to explain math, and he makes fun of u when u ask a smart question
he`s funny SOMETIMES. but you get coffee. he likes talking about myself .. but those boots man.
Yep, he's a funny guy and he cares about his students. It's nice that he takes the time to get to know us.
We are so not ready for the AP and i wonder whose that fault that is eh? blah...
this guy is freakin hilarious...he has the best jokes out of anyone...hes really smart but he doesnt teach that good...i give him 2 thumbs up tho!
