Very nice personality, she's a great person I just have some questions on teaching methods that she uses. I'm a freshmen in Spanish 2 and you read these other comments saying the best you can get is a B in the class only if you are a native speaker, but I'm not a native speaker and I manage an A- without a HUGE problem.

Sra. Joyce is a really great teacher. She has high expectations, but if you are willing to work, you can do well in her class. I guarantee everyone who has given her a bad review does not do their homework, and does not study for any tests. I am glad she pushed us so hard, because otherwise I would have forgotten everything I learned. It was difficult, but I was able to get A's both semesters. 10/10 one of the best teachers at Tesoro.

Mrs. Joyce is not very good at explaining things the first time. She literally uses puppets to teach us verb conjugation and her class is extremely boring. That being said, she is very knowledgeable, as she knows quite a few languages. She will help if you ask, especially during tutorial but for the most part you have to do the hard work on your own. If you have her don't complain or give up like everyone else because trust me this won't be your only hard class. Overall don't like her as teacher

Cathy Joyce is a very unreasonable and irate person. If she does not like you, she will not help you at all. I have her currently and she has disclosed my grade to the entire class on multiple occasion. She gives me detentions for walking in with food and marks me late even if I am in the classroom. She is so unreasonable and if you asks for help she questions if you are trying hard enough. If you ever have her as a teacher either drop the class or prepare to get an F.

Basically unless your really amazing at spanish or school is your life you will get a B at best in this class. I had a solid in AP Euro (A hard class) 2 semesters and got by this class with barely above an 80%. Spanish isn't that difficult she just makes it really difficult.

Joyce is great if you actually care about your grade. The people who don't like her are the ones who are upperclassmen and failed a year of Spanish twice. She is nice and very observant on homework and tests. I got an A both semesters just by listening in class. Overall the class was easy and because of her homework (sometimes too time consuming), you don't have to study. Worksheets are easy and be grateful you don't have a Spanish teacher who literally makes you want to sleep. She's good.

Mrs. Joyce is honestly the meanest person I know. If you can call her a person. Lowkey she's Satan. When you walk into her class you feel immediately judged and you're in for the worst 2 hours of your life. Except you see her 3 times a week. If you get her, DROP OUT RIGHT AWAY. Save yourself if you can

There’s a difference between a “hard” teacher and a “bad” teacher. Hard teachers can be good (even your best teachers) if they help and challenge you to do your best work. Mrs. Joyce is a bad teacher. Not even a teacher really. More like a bully. No wonder so many kids at school take Chinese and German instead of Spanish. I used to wonder about why. And her exams are only "difficult" because of the arbitrary and unpredictable way she grades them.

This is by far one of the hardest classes you will take. I have taken many AP and Accelerated classes, but this class was a real struggle for me as well as my friends and other students. Regardless of your excuse, if you're late you're punished. If you have to go to the bathroom you're grade will suffer. If you want help you will not be receiving it. She does know her Spanish, however, she does not know how to teach effectively nor does she know how to cut her students some slack. Droptheclas

I'm really good at Spanish, and I have an A, but I'm still convinced that Joyce is horrible. She once threw away one of my compositions without reading it because she was convinced that I took it home and got help from a native speaker. I don't even know any native speakers. Every class is exactly the same, she's a very tough grader...even the fluent kids have a hard time making her happy. Her class is monotonous and long. She's not very helpful if you don't understand something either.
