Mr. French is a great educator and, more importantly, an understanding and caring person. I had the opportunity to learn Pre-Calculus under Mr. French last year, and he explains new topics with clarity. Although I had to work hard outside of class-at least 30 minutes of math every day ;)- I have a great grasp on Pre-Calculus and plan on majoring in math in college. I credit Mr. French and SYMKC with my perfect math score on the PSAT and near perfect math score on the SAT. Thank you, Mr. French!
I had precal with Mr. French last year, and I almost dropped from the class at the beginning of the year but decided against it. The vigor is difficult, yes, but the material is not. To understand precal, calculus, and higher level math, he quizzes us very often on foundational information in order to strengthen our understanding of the curriculum. He wants us to grasp the concepts than merely passing. From the way he teaches, you know Mr. French is very passionate about math and his students.
Comes unprepared to class everyday, not knowing what he's talking about
The only thing we learn from french's Stu Schwartz notes is how to make puns out of Stu's name. He doesn't care to look over the homework to find errors in the key, he makes students do it. The only thing he grades by himself is that scantrons from the test. He tries to distract everyone from his bad teaching by putting terrible puns and posters around his room. Everything I've learned in this class is he likes to run, go to concerts, eat snacks, and shops for lamps.
Y'all over-react smh. He's an alright teacher. He didn't "ruin math". Relax. Mrs. Statham chose him as our calc teacher by the way. Maybe ya'll should go and attack her rate-my-teacher page if you're that salty. She deserves it tbh.
Most students who are taking AP classes such as calculus are generally looking to go towards higher levels of education beyond high school, and therefore most AP teachers teach in a way that reflects college professors. Mr. French does not represent that way of teaching. Many of his classroom policies are too strict for college bound students, they baby students who are not organized and lazy, when it should just mean zeros in the gradebook. On the bright side he is a knowledgeable teacher
Horrible teacher. Does not interact with parents even when i was trying to help my kid drop when he was failing calculus with a 42. He would not talk to my son about it either. He does not care about his students or the future generation. My son is always stressed out about this class and using online resources because Mr.French does not know how to teach
Thinks he's helping when he's not. Horrible teacher in every way to be honest. He tries to be likable, and thinks it compensates for his horrible teaching.
Had him for pre-cal and BC cal, I was a bit of a slacker and didn't do his homework much but did alright on tests so my grades were pretty meh. Even though I did that he never gave up on me and helped me as much as he could during class, at lunch, or before school. He always made it a priority to help students on school work or with personal situations and would always go out of his way to do so. This is why his class had such a high rate of 5s and how a below average student got one too.
Very strict and can be mean sometimes. He will single out some students more than others in class. He gives a lot of hard work and little time to finish them. He has some good days when he'll be helpful.
He is a very strict and difficult teacher and his tests are difficult too. He is a good teacher but do not get on his bad side. He will make you miserable.
His class is really hard and he always wants his way. I really don't like his class. He thinks he is so great but really isn't. He starts picking on you and bullying you if you try to stand up for yourself. I will be glad to be out of there in May. Last year my math teacher made me enjoy math but now in Mr. French's class I hate it again.
The coolest teacher and friend you will ever have. Mr.French is very outgoing, positive, understanding, and funny. Not to mention he is a mad genius with a strong passion for math. You will never meet someone like him, he is one in a trillion. :)
All knowing and all powerful, dont forget to do your work! symkc is your friend. detentions are really hard to get...jk. just avoid them
<3 <3 <3 <3 mr. french is just amazing. even if you hate math, this is the class to take. <3
if i was a senior i would totally take his class, i took his pre-cal class during my senior year and thanks to what i learned i dont have to take college algrebra!!
Fairly easy but more importantly, great teacher that actually cares if you learn Calculus. The one thing is he is a stickler for a few rules like id's and tardys and making make up tests at 6:30 mon.
most balla teach ever...I have yet to find someone who hates him....probably will neva happen, due to teh fact he is soooo tight...
Indeed, he's the coolest and unique teacher!! very friendly
A unique teacher if I've ever met one. I had him for the punk club and can't tell you, he just had such a vibe that it was so welcoming you couldn't help but love him.
I have learned so much this year, He really knows what he is talking about and should be allowed to teach Calculus next year too! He makes it fun to learn!
mr.french is awesome, he makes stuff alot more interesting, hes more than just a teacher.
I hate math!!! But he makes everything so Interesting, is actually fun and cool. MATH teacher and PUNK.. weird but Awesome! 04'
he's cooler outside of class than in class. expects you to love math as much as he does. understanding and has high goals. (its a good thing)
good teacher course is hard but certainly helped turn my math career around.

Cool dude. Probably one of the coolest teachers next to Mr. D. What other teacher would invite you to a show?
Name another teacher that lets you sing songs as part of the class.
AWESOME GUY! ...hes super cool, super fun, and loves punk rock.... what more do you want?
didn't like his class at first, but decided he was my favorite teacher last year. awesome guy!
