Is unable to answer questions from students beyond the main scope of the content. Doesn't teach the class, instead gives textbook handouts for them to annotate. Although exams are relatively easy, she grades extremely harshly on essays and projects
Like the person below said, she does not teach lessons to her classes, at least to her global honors classes. We are always working on a project, essay, or reading things, a lot of the times reading things she should be teaching us. Impossible to get an A unless you do something extraordinary. Some of the projects we have done include writing a notes sheet (to teach the class something), and doing a project where we teach the class (literally give a lesson to the class).
She does not teach. Gives out packets to learn. Cries in class and is mentally unstable. Picks favorites. Has no control over class. Does not know history. Just a bad teacher overall. RIP if you get her. Gives out dumb projects that she gives b on. Expect a b for honors and no A.
Ms. Lin is one of the best teachers I've had. Anyone who says she picks favorites is lying. She gives everyone an equal opportunity to do well, and while I can't speak for her A or B classes, she is certainly one of the harder honors teachers in terms of grading (essays and written responses in particular). Her classes are very informative and I really enjoy her teaching methods. I hope to take East Asian Studies in junior year with her again! I'll definitely miss her global class.
Awesome teacher, very lucky to have her, tough grader but other than that awesome.
Ms.Lin is an extremely nice and supportive teacher. I had her for Global Honors and class was so much fun. We got to do interactive activities a lot and got to do many projects rather than hard tests or quizzes. Although the primary source packets get a little irritating, the work for both in and out of class is not too difficult (although it is time consuming). She is a loving teacher, and is sweet when you talk to her. She is a little shy, but overall an amazing person and teacher. Love her!!
She is one of the best teachers in the school. She has never yelled.
she's an impossible teacher for global themes (honors AND a) and she picks favorites. only the favorites get good grades, she bases the grades on how much she likes you. she never responds to emails so i never go to extra help and then i fail and she's a super hard grader. not very helpful on feedback either and makes you do unnecessary work
Chi-Ann just doesn't know what she is doing. She doesn't give out any A's so if your that kid who has to get an A in every class good luck. But if you settle for B's its a cake walk
ChiAnn Is a very good teacher for global themes, but has some mood swings that slow down the class. Overall, good teacher
Miss Lin is a great teacher and i have really loved her class. She lets us debate stuff and encourages students to take the more difficult or not so obvious viewpoint. some say she's really emotional but it is only to the kids who don't listen and are disrespectful. She is a fair grader on tests and I do well on them. I just wish there wasn't so many essays because they are tough and I am the worst writer. Be nice to her please. She is a really nice person and i will miss her.
almost done with the year and I love her!!!! amazing..really easy and shes shes super nice!!
Ms Lin is the sweetest teacher ever!!! She is really interested in what she teaches (I had her for Global Themes) and is eager to help if you are having trouble. She does not really like if you are talkative and disrespectful when she if teaching and can get quite upset if you are. MAKE SURE YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HER BEFORE HANDING IN A PAPER!!! I did this for my first 2 essays and got A's. For the 3rd one, I didn't meet with her and got a C+, meaning I had to rewrite it.
Ms. Lin is such a sweet teacher. For East Asian, she's very caring and makes sure that everything's clear and understood. She doesn't assign much homework and she really isn't as emotional as people say she is. If anything, she's just a very sensitive and caring woman. She's really awkward but funny in her own way and you DO learn in her class.
She is really nice and cares about all her students. While the class may be difficult for some, if you bother to put in the effort then she will reward you. It would be hard to find a nicer teacher.
I took her for US History Honors and it was one hard class. Easily my hardest. But at the same time it was one of my favorite classes. Its a lot of writing and I can't write so that was a problem but she assigns the essay at least two weeks before the due date so meet with her the week before and the week of and she will help guide your paper. The quizzes are hard but she gives you a lot to study from and time to study. Overall I really like her and she genuinely cares about the students and I really want t
Her class is made up of many group projects based on packets which makes it much less taxing than other classes. However, the homework is very long and time and her essays are graded very harshly. Unless your a genious you must learn not to slack of in this class or you will fall behind especially because of the small amount of graded assignments, every one counts. Quizes aren't hard as long as you make a study guide from the list of events/terms that should be known for the quiz and absorb what we learn in
A lot of what students said is true. However, if you really want to learn just be nice and patient because she actually is really knowledgable. She's also a really sweet and likable person. I really liked her and she's very kind but usually ends up with students who don't pay attention. She reallly cares about what she teaches and wants everyone to learn--plus she makes her classes really interesting!
she cares way too much about what her students think of her, and gets easily offended
Best teacher I've ever had. Really China and Japan well.
Ms. Lin is an extremely nice and very funny person, and if you show her some respect in the first few days, you're set for the rest of the year. She's one teacher I really respect in this school system.
While Lin is a good teacher, she is INCREDIBLEY bi-polar. 1 second she will be laughing and joking around with you, then the next minute sh practically kills you for no reason. (as a side note, to many people hate techno for no reason. Some techno is good
Chi-Ann Lin is a decent teacher and a very nice person. She doesn't seem to be much of an expert on her subject, but if you study for her rare quizzes and do well on papers, you are set. Papers are like all your grade. Watch out for the mood swings.
she's a bad teacher who doesnt know the material she's trying to teach, she also picks favorites and is very mean if your not one of them
unfamilar with her subject picks favories erratic behavior; looses composure in class lots of movies and game playing unrelated to topic
She's a sweet lady, and she is very smart. However, she cannot control a class and has frequent mood swings. Her class is incredibly easy.
understanding but tough, classes can get a little boring sometimes but shes good at teaching
nice, fun teacher who teaches a challenging but not too hard class
make sure you study EVERYTHING in those powerpoint packets!! she asks very specific questions. great teacher though - so much fun, loves to joke around!
ms. lin is very nice and understanding towards the students :) yay ms lin!!!
very nice, one of the better social studies teachers : )
