Honestly, the discomfort I feel in his class is unbearable and he is totally inappropriate. anyone who says he's just sarcastic; that's not it. he's genuinely an unfair teacher. He claims to have taught his kids but he actually just gives us busy work and expects that we've miraculously learned from it. he also has verbally assaulted many students in our class, including me. He often comments on kids' looks, especially girls. He favors students to the point of altering grades bc of it. HORRIBLE
Mr. Goddard is one of my all time favorite teachers. I agree, he does pick favorites and I was one of them, but he really is very friendly and will help you improve if you put in the effort. His class is easy and fun if you let it be
Mr. Goddard had a tremendous impact on me. My public speaking grades went from low B's to high grades. I ended up having the highest grade in the class for the last speech. He helped me outside of class as well regarding school work and home life. I was a hard worker in his class and it paid off. The lazy students who didn't care about improving were the ones who preformed poorly in his class. Thank you Mr. Goddard for a wonderful experience.
To the people who think he's self-centered or makes fun of kids, that's just his sarcastic personality. He works tirelessly to make sure people get through public speaking, and is really passionate about his subject. Also he can be hilarious albeit in a super cringe way
Mr. Goddard is my favorite teacher ever! He's funny, and really knows how to get through to students. I wouldn't say he grades difficulty, but definitely requires you to earn your grade. Great guy!
Mr. Goddard was a good public speaking teacher, with a one-of-a-kind sense of humor. His class is NOT EASY, and he will not tolerate excessive goofing around, but I learned a lot from him, and he made class fun and amusing, albeit a bit stressful. You'll notice the only people that didn't like his sense of humor were the ones that didn't contribute to the class at all.
Mr.Goddard was SUCHHH a great teacher! SO funny! He made lesson plans like the highlight of my day! He's so helpful. I entered his class already being a good speaker, and left even better. I am signing up for Debate just because I honestly LOVED public speaking! YAY GODDARD
I don't know about his class but he is an awesome debate coach.
Mr. Goddard does favorite girls a little bit, but his idea for grading is very good, the more you practice, the better grades you will have.
Great teacher. Doesn't hand out easy As, but hard work earns you your grade. Well Taught.
REALLY hard. i got kinda scared a lot of doing my speech. i was a freshman with a majority of juniors dominating the class.
Good teacher, but he is a little touchy, and i bet its really uncomfortable for those people. I hate to agree, but he does seem to favor girls when grading. hes a funny guy But one of my best classes,
Great for speech and debate, eccentric personality though :)
I have a feeling he picks favorites in all his classes; I am one of them, but it's his only real undesirable trait. I don't buy into all the hype that he grades based on attractiveness.
he really likes the kids who are different hard grader but work hard and you will get an A
Mr. Goddard was one of the most educated, proactive teachers I ever had in high school. A bit eccentric but a good guy. Take his classes seriously and do what work he expects and you will do well.
This man is awful. Egotistical, pompous, and self centered. Not only does he not know what he's talking about, he makes it impossible to stay focused. How this can be a desired career is beyond me.
nice guy, but really sketchy, what do you expect, hes a speach teaher, plus he grades like its a military objective test
He is a really nice man. I learned a lot in his class.
Grading hard would be ok if he wasn't so biased about it. Needs to relax a little. Unique personality, but often not in a good way.
Eccentric... but i learned more in that class than in any other class I've ever had. Very dedicated with Speech & Debate too.
As was said...good for Speech and Debate, not so surte for public speaking, With S&D, as long as you show up and do well, he's not bad at all.
the gestures lesson is rude and if he thinks he's being funny...well that's Godard for you
Very good, nice guy too many whiners want an A with no work- geez the class isn't hard- a speech every few weeks, deal with it
he may be a nice guy, but come on. if you can't get an a and it's upper arlington with grade inflation as it is, it's just too hard.
very nice guy, learned alot- excelant teacher. Is a little odd but makes class interesting... he did break my pencil though...
Not a personable teacher and has a strange sense of humor. He tries to get involved with student conversations and it wierds people out.
Kind of weird guy, but fun overall. Just get used to his personality. His teaching, on the other hand, is great and he really helps to make people great public speakers. Its hard, but just relax in his class and its an A or B.
Not easy. Rarely helpful. And frankly, pretty scary. I hate how he is stubborn and also demands respect from students but really doesn't give us much.
pssh you can get an A. you people just don't try and follow directions.
