Mr. Hartz goes through lessons way too fast. He just zooms through slides and expects us to know what he's doing. He's clearly very smart, but just can't teach well enough. I went through many nights of homework unaware of what the lesson was even about. I had to, instead, look through the textbook and learn the lesson myself. He grades very harshly as well (miss one little mark and you get a point off) but his rule of 2 good quizzes + drop 1 bad quiz is decent.

Great teacher, very willing to help you out with concepts you don't understand. However, I had some trouble with him as some of my grades were calculated incorrectly, and I had to speak to him repeatedly to correct my grades with him.

Very laid back if you are too which means no talking but if your cool he will give you 5 to 10 minutes to chill depending on the lesson. Very clear, and teaches great.

Explains everything and tries to find our what you messed up on when you do, which is basically what a math teacher should do, so i would say that he is a pretty good teacher.

Hartz's classes are recommended for machochists but on the otherhand are not beneficial for math phobes. Transfer at all costs even if it means transfering in the middle of the semester.
