Had him for High Honors. Nice guy, bad class. He clearly knows the material but struggles to present it. quizzes are exercises in memorization and everything is graded very harshly, especially the essay tests. One of the textbooks used, Essential Literary Terms, is extremely confusing and requires in class explanation of the terms. None is given.
Mr. Heintz is the man. He is extremely knowledgeable and is probably one of the only teachers at the school that actually reads each kid's entire essay and makes corrections to the fullest extent possible. He would always write a long note at the end of my essay tests explaining what I did right and how I could improve for the next time. He is the single most underrated teacher at The Prep.
Mr. Heintz classes are truly for those college bound. Following his notes and in class discussions are key to passing his class! great teacher overall!
Very underrated, he is an approachable guy who grades harshly, but overall is just looking to improve your writing
Mr. Heintz is the most underrated teacher at SHP. Never goes off topic. great teacher
Helped me a lot with my writing. Need to be Shakespeare to get an A on an essay. Otherwise, a good class.
He was a good teacher looking back, but he shows no emotion or enthusiasm whatsoever.
He seems insecure and never really takes control of the class, though he tries to by sending people down. No one sees him as an authority figure and he is not approachable.
Cool class -- but hard. Study up your sports trivia.
I think he's extremely underrated. I consider him a great teacher. He really knows what's important, how to teach it, and how to test it. A lil shy though.
needs to relax, seems afraid of his students, knows his stuff though
