She is horrible. she has told me so many pieces of advice that I have to go back and change because it put me BEHIND instead of ahead. She is extremely annoying unless you LOVE government.
A lot of kids take this class just for the AP. If you actually care about the world a little bit, you'll have a much easier time here. There's a lot of reading. She gives a lot of extra credit; take advantage of every single opportunity because it will save your grade. Raise your hand a lot, you'll get extra credit. Many people don't do all the EC and get Bs and Cs. She knows her stuff and is enthusiastic. She makes dumb jokes, and she won't like you if you are rude. She's always there to help.
Mrs. Heaton is probably one of my favorite teachers. She values hard work and will help you no matter what. It has been such a pleasure to have her as a teacher.
The woman is an utterly horrendous monster of a human being.
Christy Heaton is a horrible woman. She will divulge student's grades with other students and discusses their performance. She asked administrators for a raise when Homestead couldn't even afford to buy students' text books. She has no integrity. All she cares about is her paycheck and is not invested in the success of her students at all, and will even work toward their detriment. She should be fired.
She's extremely knowledgeable about what she's teaching, and willing to help you outside of class. Her manner of explaining concepts is not super logical, but if you have questions she will be able to answer them. She has a sense of humor and is generally smiling and friendly. She does tend to lose her temper on random occasions and scold the class, because, I think, of her high expectations for how we should behave (and mood swings). In general, though, her class is my favorite by far.
Probably the best teacher I had at Homestead. She told interesting stories, was well organized, and taught me a lot without giving too much homework or busywork.
She's a great teacher. Although she gives probably more work than necessary for AP Gov, it really helps the student. She does show a bit of favoritism but who doesn't. It's pretty darn easy to get
She does her job well -- a LOT of us get 5's on our AP's. The work isn't busywork as people say, but it's really close to being that... the good part is, though, that you'll do well on the AP exam.
good class taught by an excellent teacher. she makes sure to cover anything and everything the AP test will throw at you. i had a great time. just make sure to bring a sweatshirt, as it's really cold.
A really easy class, but I learned a ton. One of the best teachers at Homestead.
She really knows her stuff and is really clear about the material she's teaching us. The examples relate all to each other and is easy to comprehend and apply. She does gt moody sometimes though.
watch out for the mood swings! she can get prettty snippy on her bad days
She was awesome most the time, but all of a sudden, she would get mood swings, and just go off, and then turn around like nothing happened
mrs. heaton is so jolly and an overall great person. she really loves her subject and is extrememly knowledgable. her class is not hard, stay awake and you'll love it!
heaton knows what shes talking about. her class may be slow, but youll learn. just dont get on her bad side. shes always willing to help-go in at lunch/afterschool.
good teacher. KNOWS HER STUFF. anything about gov or econ she knows. very nice and lots of extra credit. she hates to see her students fail.
cool teacher, REALLY knows her stuff.. can answer any question students fire at her about gov/econ.
Awesome teacher. Fair and helpful. Oh, and EVIL! (Heaton, graduation, you know what I'm talking about.)
shes hard but fair.... u can go in for help and she will help ya out
nice teacher. pretty mellow class. ppl last year are mean.
Boring, and a terrible teacher, I cant believe she was a new teachers instructor
A little bit boring. She was unable to keep class structured.
