Had him last (freshman) year for advanced algebra 2...and all I can say is that while he may not be the best teacher, he at least gives many opportunities for grade boasts (Note book checks, questions of the week) which help out a LOT if you struggle to get settled into the class like I did. He's terrible at probability, so I'd suggest you see Ms. Davis for help if you're confused, since he gets these types of problems wrong all the time. However, be prepared to do some intense logarithms!

I'm the type that likes the crazy teachers. He actually explains concepts pretty thoroughly. I paid attention and I do super well. If I don't, I would fail the exams. He usually ignores most students, so it is a relaxing class (if you are like me and have him for Advanced Precalculus).

Mr. Veiga is the sweetest guy if you ever take time to see it. I took advanced alg 2 as a challenge, but i HIGHLY suggest you get a tutor if you dont alread take russian math which is what all the smart kids take. i fall asleep in his class all the time. if you do all the work youll do fine. he takes it easy on you if you are a non asian female, but not in a racist way. maybe just in my experience, but if you try hard and are still strugling, he appreciates the effort

I hate his class. Don't get me wrong, Mr. Veiga is actually a really nice guy. He gives advice and seems to really care about his students' well-being. But as a teacher, he neglects his students when they ask for help after class, and also never admits when he is wrong. Students are forced to use their textbooks to maintain a decent grade, and although I have maintained approbation with distinction throughout my years, I find that his homework takes well over an hour if I want to understand it.

Mr. Veiga is simply put the bane of my existence. First, he only has one teaching method, writing notes on to the projector. Second, he makes tons of mistakes during class and often times refuses to be corrected. Third, he assigns homework every single night regardless of if you just had a test or if you have not covered the material. Fourth, he expects students to teach themselves from the textbook. Lastly, my personal words of advice, Transfer out!

Not a good teacher at all. I will be clear, I am trying to paint you a negative picture of Mr. Veiga because he is nothing else than a bad teacher. His time management is absolutely terrible, as is his teaching ability. If you get him, TRANSFER OUT. Don't be stubborn, don't think you're the new Einstein, there is absolutely nothing wrong with transferring into regular math. Just pray if you take advanced that you get Ms. Cojohn. She is the only good math teacher.

He is a terrible teacher. Do not listen to reviews talking about how nice he is, how he's an easy teacher or extra credit opportunities. Getting a 6 out of 6 on the CML will give you 1 extra point. And if you get a 5/6 he'll give you 0.25. He doesn't teach, you have to read everything out of the textbook. My dad teaches more math than he does. A garbage can teaches better than him. If you're stubborn, take him. But before September ends transfer if you don't like him, and you will definitely not

He's ok, but insanely salty. If you go say that he made a mistake or something like that, while u are explaining why you think you should have received something else, he will make up some random excuse and quite literally say "leave"

Mr. Veiga is a nice and funny teacher. He may not be the most clear, but he clearly tries very hard and cares considerably about his students. His tests are easy if you have studied and very manageable. To do well in his class, you must take good notes and do the homework--do that and you will get an easy A.

My biggest regret in his class was that I didn't try as hard as I should've. A lot of you might be taking Veiga next year and the other reviews on this page might paint a negative picture of Mr. Veiga in your minds. However, I truly think that Mr. Veiga is one of the most caring and knowledgeable teachers at BLS. He wants his students to learn but he's just not always good at explaining the material and his class policies are sometimes really dumb (ex. homework time).

Eh, an ok teacher. His class is boring, and you end up not understanding a lot of the material with him alone majority of the time. However, some of the things he says is useful, just never know when he'll be useful. Very sarcastic, but funny. It helps a lot to just read the material in the book.

Mr veiga is very knowledgeable about the mathematics he teachers, but can be hard to understand. His exams are pretty hard, but not impossible. About half the time, he doesn't get time to teach us in class and makes us do a homework assignment we haven't learned about. He does provide extra help for his students. Overall, decent teacher.
