mr veiga is best math teacher until junior/senior year. funny and easy b
Had him last (freshman) year for advanced algebra 2...and all I can say is that while he may not be the best teacher, he at least gives many opportunities for grade boasts (Note book checks, questions of the week) which help out a LOT if you struggle to get settled into the class like I did. He's terrible at probability, so I'd suggest you see Ms. Davis for help if you're confused, since he gets these types of problems wrong all the time. However, be prepared to do some intense logarithms!
I'm the type that likes the crazy teachers. He actually explains concepts pretty thoroughly. I paid attention and I do super well. If I don't, I would fail the exams. He usually ignores most students, so it is a relaxing class (if you are like me and have him for Advanced Precalculus).
best math teacher cuz the other 1s r bad
Veiga is the man. Idek how people can be hating on him. He is the man. Advanced courses aren't easy in general, but his tests aren't bad if you study.
His tests wouldn't be that bad IF HE ACTUALLY TAUGHT. He just stands at the front of the class and drones on and on and on and on, at least when he does anything other than just do the problems from the homework. Heavily biased, picks favorites and targets. Awful teacher, transfer as soon as you can.
Not a good teacher at all. I will be clear, I am trying to paint you a negative picture of Mr. Veiga because he is nothing else than a bad teacher. His time management is absolutely terrible, as is his teaching ability. If you get him, TRANSFER OUT. Don't be stubborn, don't think you're the new Einstein, there is absolutely nothing wrong with transferring into regular math. Just pray if you take advanced that you get Ms. Cojohn. She is the only good math teacher.
He is a terrible teacher. Do not listen to reviews talking about how nice he is, how he's an easy teacher or extra credit opportunities. Getting a 6 out of 6 on the CML will give you 1 extra point. And if you get a 5/6 he'll give you 0.25. He doesn't teach, you have to read everything out of the textbook. My dad teaches more math than he does. A garbage can teaches better than him. If you're stubborn, take him. But before September ends transfer if you don't like him, and you will definitely not
He's ok, but insanely salty. If you go say that he made a mistake or something like that, while u are explaining why you think you should have received something else, he will make up some random excuse and quite literally say "leave"
He does not teach you anything. To be successful, you have to study all the material by yourself.
He gives out F in conducts for no reason.
Regret taking advanced algebra..... Students pretty much teach themselves by reading the textbook since we barely get to actual material before the period ends. Tests are wicked hard and he does not explain very well. hes funny tho...
Mr. Veiga is a nice and funny teacher. He may not be the most clear, but he clearly tries very hard and cares considerably about his students. His tests are easy if you have studied and very manageable. To do well in his class, you must take good notes and do the homework--do that and you will get an easy A.
My biggest regret in his class was that I didn't try as hard as I should've. A lot of you might be taking Veiga next year and the other reviews on this page might paint a negative picture of Mr. Veiga in your minds. However, I truly think that Mr. Veiga is one of the most caring and knowledgeable teachers at BLS. He wants his students to learn but he's just not always good at explaining the material and his class policies are sometimes really dumb (ex. homework time).
Eh, an ok teacher. His class is boring, and you end up not understanding a lot of the material with him alone majority of the time. However, some of the things he says is useful, just never know when he'll be useful. Very sarcastic, but funny. It helps a lot to just read the material in the book.
Mr veiga is very knowledgeable about the mathematics he teachers, but can be hard to understand. His exams are pretty hard, but not impossible. About half the time, he doesn't get time to teach us in class and makes us do a homework assignment we haven't learned about. He does provide extra help for his students. Overall, decent teacher.
BEST TEACHER EVER.
Outstanding teacher, super duper easy
Funniest teacher ever, really smart, just not the best at explaining things.
it's hilarious when he tries to correct your english grammar. Funny and nice guy but if you want to learn and do well in his class..i suggest a tutor
Great teacher, cares about students and wants them to succeed. Provides multiple extra credit opportunity. The grade you get is proportional to the effort you put in.
Can be somewhat moody, but overall a good teacher. He definitely cares about his students, whatever other people say and he makes you want to learn I think.
Claudino... unintentionally hilarious but probably the worst math teacher I ever had. Too much homework, hard to understand, and gives ridiculous tests.
Explains the math decently, but gives too much HW + huge projects w/o telling us how to do them or letting us even ask questions. Really grouchy too.
He gave the class a Test on Trigonometry, and then we didn't learn it until 2 months later. He really needs to learn how to be a teacher... RIGHT????
Doesn't get the respect he deserves... but its funny
Best Geometry teacher ever! I used to not get math but now cuz of Mr. Veiga I do.
mr veiga is the coolest teacher i have ever had, i love going to his class everyday =D and i learn so much from him
Yes, Mr. Veiga IS a bad teacher, and yes, he CAN'T speak english.... but he is a cool guy. He is funny, and he is nice... most of the time. We even have a party tomorrow... PI Day!
I hate him! He's a jerk, and actually once said "if it's in the book that means I dont have to teach it".
Hated him when I had him, but loved him when I didn't. Try to get to know him, he's really not that bad..
this guy needs a hobby besides making his students miserable
