Mr. Seran is a great teacher. At first when I decided to take Chemistry Honors, I was very hesitant because of what the students at ratemyteacher were saying. The comment that scared me the most was "He makes kids say their grades out loud, even if you got a bad one, and publicly ridicules anyone who gets a bad grade." This is completely untrue. Mr. Seran makes students read out the grades for homework assignments, which you can still get 100% on even if you got all the answers wrong. He's fair.

While he can be difficult at the beginning of the year, you do get acclimatized to him. At first, the class was very difficult, but it is NECESSARY for you to put the time in. If you put the time in, he'll meet you half way and if you ever have any questions he'll answer in great detail. Very knowledgeable about chemistry!

Just get on his good side and you won't have problems. If you put the effort in, it's worth it. He's a very knowledgeable teacher without a doubt, and he's always willing to go over things and clarify stuff the textbook is really unclear about. I like him, but he's not for everyone I guess.

He doesn't know what he's doing... I completed failed the AP test because he was "thrown off track" and we had almost no preparation.

Mr Seran is either the Antichrist or the best teacher you've had in a while. If you are the type of person who enjoys learning in class you will be disappointed when he stops teaching after the first semester. However, he actually gives many amenities to students to compensate for his lack of actual teaching, such amenities include, giving us the test questions, telling us similar problems to those that are on the test etc. Beware though, he does like to run psychological experiments
