Mrs. Kennedy is firm but connects well with the students. Speaking with her you see the passion she has for music. Good role model for my daughter who wants to teach music one day.
Mrs Kennedy is always available to speak with parents, takes an interest in developing students and holds her students to a high standard of accountability. Her orchestras perform very well. This is our 2nd child over the past 12 years who has 4 years of orchestra teaching and development under Mrs Kennedy, very happy with the results.
Mrs. Kennedy is well suited for the grade schools she teaches at but not the high school level. The chandler high orchestras do not help the students grow musically at all. Kids are bored. They are playing music they played in junior high and started a piece recently that they played in the fifth grade! Go to Hamilton or any other school if your student is interested in the orchestra. Something really special needs to change here.
Mrs. K. is very helpful, I graduated this year and very thankful to have been a part of the orchestra.
Mrs. Kennedy taught my daughter in elementary and then all 4 years of High School. She is very approachable, always willing to help out and very knowledgeable in her teachings. My daughter excelled in Mrs. Kennedy's class and I am very thankful to everyone at CHS.
Really nice teacher and very chill
Extremely nice. Sometimes too nice. She doesn't know how to critique the orchestra. Some students just sit in the back and don't play at all. She is also not that great of a violist from what I hear of other musicians who has played with her.
Very nice. However, a pushover. She lets the orchestra run the class, not her. She's not a conducter. She's a violist. Sometimes, she needs to take charge. She is not respected as a leader.
The worst thing to hear is an orchestra teacher whose learning how to play the violin in public.
