Gave me a work ethic. Hated him when I had him, love the fact I can now work on something for hours on end.
Too much homework
Great teacher!! It's definitely hard to adjust to his teaching style but once you do it gets easier. Get up early to start on homework (usually posted on galileoweb or schooloop) so that when you get home you can finish the rest of the notes. Do corrections, participate, and compliment him (mostly this). You need to stay organized and on top of your assignments or you'll fall behind and never recover. Oh and he loves cheetos and coke so if you ever need some more points give him a lot.
He's one of the best chemisty teacher and challenge you to work hard. (Also if you want a lot of homework have him) EXTRA POINTS!!!!!!!!
He's just best! He makes sure we understand everything and he's really fun and chill .
He is very helpful and really cool. He is the best teacher!
Note taking class.. It's basically a teach yourself class. Thank god I switched to Ms.O'Connor's 2nd period class..
He makes you write everything out instead of using short hand which is stupid because it's your notes .. The do now takes all of the class and more and you can barely read his handwriting. Homework everyday but that's doable
He was just an exceptional teacher. Makes sure you actually use your brain by mixing the tests up with article questions if you're in honors. If your class participates it would make your experience even better since he brings up hilarious/interesting topics. The opportunity to be able to correct assignments to get full points is a big +. He sacrifices his lunchtime to help students with things they don't get, so you should definitely take this chance to understand the topic. He Is the G.O.A.T.!
homework everyday, stay on his good side and you'll be fine. & study study study.
HOMEWORK EVERY FREAKING DAY. Likes to refer to students as "bosses". Grades hard on labs.. Such a critic. But nonetheless, the classwork is doable, just gotta put the time in, DURRR. Overall, he's an alright chemistry teacher.
There will be times when you dont get the materials, just ask Grimm he will be more than happy to teach you until you get it. Test reviews take forever to do, but if you can do the test review the test shpuld be no problem. GRIMM IS DA BEST!
Get your 3 inch binder ready and a 6 pack of coke. His test reviews are good study guides except that you have to spent hours doing it. Excessive homework but prepares you for tests, if the doesn't sous like the class for you transfer out.
He is the best teacher you'll ever have, his tests are straight forward, he gives extremely helpful review homework right before the test that basically gives you what is going to be on the test, and his homework is so much that even if you mess up on his tests, there is still a possibility for an A. He is extremely helpful and I highly recommend him. His teaching method and his cornell notes homrwork helped me prepare for AP chemistry, and I'm doing quite well because of it.
good luck if you have him. Make sure you study your test review before a test because those will really help a lot!
Grimm's class will be, and is, hard due to the amount of paperwork given out. His teaching methods are not helpful; assigning articles we won't remember or need and taking too long on do nows. No understanding of our limits/timeframe, messy handwriting. Despite giving chances for correcting work, good luck finding the time and will to do them w/o spending your lunch everyday in his class. Even more difficult to balance with other classes. He's a good man but his class is not worth the effort.
he's okay.... but a lot of homework even though i'm in his regular class
He can not teach well, does not understand students. Grimm throws work at you and expects you to know it. He is not well at explaining, and everything must go his way. If you're put in Grimm's class, you're basically on your own.
he cant really teach. like he explains something in class but when it comes to the test its like you dont even know what your doing.
I admit, you don't appreciate Grimm until you finish his class. His class is pretty challenging even as a regular class. I think his class should be considered honors regardless. His teaching style and material suits a honors class and I don't think it's fair for regular level students to be placed in this class only because you have to put a lot of effort to keep your grade up in this class compared to other chemistry classes like Debella. You will learn form this class if you are determined to
Mr.Grim is a nice guy. Many people think he's sooohard or strict but if you actually paticipate and take notes, you'll learn A LOT!!
this is the worst teacher I've ever known. He basically just spend half of his class time to write down questions on board and ask students to find out answers on their own. His presentation is hard to follow and seems like he just wants to come to classroom to write everything on the board, and that completes his part of the job.
Good teacher and you actually learn and he has a way of teaching that makes everyone participate. Nice guy
Every thing has to be specific and real organized. His grading policy is unreasonable... AVOID THIS CLASS!!!!
everything has to be really specific and well organized, and you have to be able to decipher bad handwriting.
I actually like Mr. Grimm. He is serious, but he also has a sense of humor. It is easy to talk to him about things, even not chemistry related. The only thing is that there is WAY to much repetition.
Stop QQing and do the work. The class isn't hard if you actually try.
Have to write lines and sit at the side when you're late. Pick favorites.
Okay teacher. He tends to pick favorites. During class, he always picks the same students and never let others have a chance to raise their grade. HW is way too much, but easy to do. Very strict.
All work teacher. Tests have irrelevant questions. Grading policy is unreasonable. Makes students do corrections on homework subjects he didn't teach. Plays favorites and teaches false facts. FAIL.
UBER HARD CLASS. Probably the hardest class offered @ Galileo High. You basically teach yourself in that class. You ask yourself questions everynight and you answer them by yourself everynight.
I don't suggest taking his class. You do homework everynight but asking yourself questions from a few pages from the text book everynight. You teach yourself and he goes over a little in class.
Hes a hard teacher but at least i learned stuff in his class.
I agree that his labs are very hard because he's very picky. However, he does do retakes on his tests and gives out extra credit opportunities. Be sure to pay attention and don't slack off.
Grimm grades test and labs hard. They have to be EXACTLY how he wants them to be.
If your planning to take AP CHEM, i seriously recommend you to do some serious studying...
Mr Grimm is the hardest grader ever. his class is cool, but cornell notes everyday! he makes u write lines if ur late. if u dont do ur work or if ur sleeping, he'll kick u out. but that u actually learn in the class.
From what I heard, Grimmy was a hard teacher, but students that come out of his class are always more prepared for science-oriented subjects, so yeah, it's good. I heard his labs are very hard and they must be very detailed.
Mr.Grimm is an average teacher. He grades Tests and papers as if it was english class. You can never do anything your own way in formulas. You need to do it step by step. It gets frustrating. The little work ends up as a lot.
mr. grimm teaches biology too fast. i hate it when we the students have to write lines i think it is a waste of our learning time and when we get kicked out of class.
Mr. Grimm is cool. There are some things that are not so cool, but unlike most sceince teachers he's funny and teaches heads on.
Mr. Grimm is a great teacher! But he gives a lotttt of homework.. which is good, but then again.. I don't learn from them haha.. but I still get A's.. He's a picky grader.. and you also have to S T U D Y!
Grimm is a good teacher. You learn a lot. He gives a lot of homework, but it's pretty simple and you can learn a lot from it along with the Do Now's.
cool teacher. learned a lot, easy test if u study but takes time cuz lots of essay questions. do all hw,its simple. picky on labs. helpful-ask for help during lunch. theres extra credit work
Good teacher, reviews everything like three times so it actually sticks to your head. Sometimes you hate him, sometimes you dont. His work can be pretty tedious but in the end, it actually helps you learn.
I Dun lIkes him! Tell all the classes your dating Ms. King
the work isnt that hard, he just grades hard. if you go ask for help during lunch time, he'll be hella helpful. easy tests & hw
Mr. Grimm is cool and he's only hard if you don't ask for help. Get on his good side and he'll always be helpful. *hint: hate bush :D
Not the easiest teacher, but a really good one. If you need any help, come at lunch and he'll help you with whatever you need help with. He lets you retake tests, which is a big +!
