He is the worst teacher I've ever had. He is extremely confusing about what he wants and gets mad when you dont undertstand. He is really not reasonable at all and makes you feel stupid. Some people like him, but I honestly do not know why. I would transfer out as soon as possble. Also I heard that he's made serveral kids cry.
He is literally the best teacher at Beacon he cares so much about everyone and everything he's truly passionate about the subject he really is passionate about his kids! as well he's really has the best personality at Beacon and I requested to have them for two years because he was so good. He makes you think about things that you would never consider it unless you are in his class and that only make us stronger! there are amazing discussions that are done in class that really only happen in co
he was a pretty good teacher during the first month of school, later on i didnt even know what was up with him. some things in class made no sense, especially when it came to essays.
Excellent teacher. Take his classes.
He is a difficult yet extremely knowledgeable and talented teacher.
Mr. Guralnick is by far my favorite teacher. He's so nice and is very clear when he teaches. He always makes sure that his students understand the material and helps then if they don't.
He's smart but he's really insecure and takes this out on the class. If you are good at grammar and writing essays technically, he's a good teacher for you. But, if you read slowly or take your time with ideas and books, I would switch out.
He is a good teacher
Very passionate young man. He can be intimidating, but once you get to know him, you will find that he is very sweet. He wants his students to succeed, and is even willing to put in extra time to tutor them. Only those who slack off dislike him.
Mr. Guralnick is an extremely smart teacher with extensive knowledge and care for literature. Being in his class has made me push myself a lot to succeed. That being said, he can be extremely intimidating and mean. You must work very hard to succeed.
At first, I was really intimidated by Mr. Guralnick because I had heard many things about how he is a really tough teacher. As I got to know him and became acquainted with his class, I really enjoyed it. He is incredibly passionate and knowledgable in the field and is really great at helping his students succeed. I started with a 71 on my first essay and that average has since increased by 10 percentage points and my teacher didn't forget to applaud me on it. He's great and worth the work!
In the beginning he may seem kind of mean and like he doesn't care but he really does, that's just his way. He knows so much about literature and has a really good outlook on a lot of things. If you talk to him outside of class he's actually very sweet and funny. If you get into his class, you're very lucky so be prepared to learn a lot.
best teacha evaaaa!!!! His class was the best english class I've ever taken and he knew so much about the text! It was never boring either.
He is amazing and very smart. He can be very overbearing sometimes, but that is only because he wants you to succeed. Slackers, people who routinely come to class high, kids who don't care about education, and people really not trying often hate the class because Guralnick expects more from you than average teachers do. He is wonderful, attractive, and insightful. His only downfall is that he doesn't get very personal if you don't initiate conversations after/before class so he can seem distant.
He doesn't do any creative assignments in his curriculum, which is really annoying, but he keeps a good amount of control over the class and is a reasonable grader.
Mr. Guralnick is the best English teacher I have ever had. He teaches at an advanced level, yet manages to expertly communicate each lesson to his students. He is personable, but extremely professional. He cares about his students success, and strives to allow us to understand literature to its fullest profundity. Anyone would be lucky to get him as a teacher in the future.
People criticize him for being a tough teacher. However, if you put in the work, and keep trying, you will understand what he wants soon. He is so smart and teaches such useful info! I know I will retain this knowledge I obtained from his class in the years to come. I am SO satisfied with his class even though I don't get straight As with him. I am willing to work hard because his class is worth it! I truly enjoy his class and will be sorry when it ends. His grammar lessons help with SAT!
He is a tough teacher and I really hate that he doesn't give grades. I am learning a ton in this class, but it's a lot of work, especially for a junior.
I don't know why some people don't like him... He's a great teacher, you just have to be willing to work.
When you hand in an essay he does not great it and makes you revise just so that you can see your grade... he then does not grade the revised copy. I find this unnecessary due to the fact that i have
dont listen to other people. this guy is great and funny just dont fool around and be a d bag in his class
You'll learn a lot in his class, although it seems like he'd rather be out running than teaching. You should also agree with what he says, or he'll disparage everything you do.
he's the first english teacher I've done all the reading for because you can't get away with not doing the reading in his class.
i think that mr. Gurlanick knows a lot about literature but it seems he is not really interested in or talented at teaching. He gives tedious work each night that can be done on the train. I feel grad
1 pg of reflection everynight (mini essay basically), issues list also, along with 40 pgs of reading, oh and he doesn't count the homework unless you pass the impossible quiz in the beginning of class
impossible to get an A. I have graduated and my college class was easier.
Can teach very well but his class is extremely unengaging and boring. He also overreacts to a lot of stuff and doesn't have much of a sense of humour.
