Mr. Tapia is very knowledgable. He needs to upgrade his handwritting but he is a great teacher. His Exams are useally Written- response's for something
He chooses favorites and wants us to teach ourselves. He can be extremely rude to his students. We rarely take notes. 2 students can have the same exact work and he will fail one and pass one depending on if he likes the student. He checks our notebooks and makes his students make a table of contents, but it does not help the students stay organized.
He's a good person and tries to help his students, but his work is a little too hardcore to keep up with, in my opinion.
I have him this year for 9AP and he's a really funny guy! It's just that ha teaching methods are 100% ineffective. I literally haven't learned anything. However, he assigns very little homework compared to O'Niell so he's the better of the two AP9s
How in the world did they let this guy wonder into the school and teach? He doesn't seem to have the slightest idea on how to teach. It is unbelievable how little we learn on the material that is on the test, but apparently we should take more time on current topics than those that will be on the tests. Plays favorites, gives too much hw, and teaches us irrelevant info.
Had Tapia this year for AP World. He chose favorites basically the first week, gave too much homework, impossible tests and didnt teach anything. always called out his non-fav kids every day.
Had Tapia in 9th for AP World. Picks favorites the first week of school
His class was very hard, but I guess you should expect that in an AP Class. I didn't like him that much in 9th grade, but now that I am in 10th grade, and no longer in AP classes, I realize that he was really a good teacher. We would really get off topic in his class but I liked that. Wish I was still in his class.
greastest teacher i have ever had he is such a great guy he is SOOOOOOOOO NICEEEEEEE
i like mr. tapia =] he is easy to understand when he tries but he does get off topic a lot.
SO easy to get off topic. Just ask about his time in South America, and you pretty much have a period of listening to him babble. But he's very nice, and occasionally is a good teacher.
very nice man, very poor teacher. it was rough enough to start a new ap class, but u had to jump right into self-teaching. cant make up his mind. (ex. - if due date for hw is fri. he'll check thurs)
I was so glad when the year ended. He had favorites (although I was one of them =]). Technologically challenged (smartboard) and has BAD handwriting. On the good side, you can mimic him so easily haha
I had him in ninth grade. I felt like he expected perfection and if we didn't achieve it we must not be trying hard enough.
he picks on some kids. if you do well he never expects you to slide a bit, he gets dissapointed like he's your mother or something. Its not really his buisness about my life. Nice.
i like mr.tapia.. i dislike the class but not his teaching ability :)
He's alright, a good guy, but not an awesome teacher. Lacks clarity in assignments and homework questions. But he's nice so long as you make an effort.
tAPIA IS A GOOD GUY HE STRICT BUT TRUST ME IT FOR YOUR GOOD HE IS AN OVERALL GOOD TEACHER AND EVEN THOUGH SOME THINK HE IS MEAN HE DOES WANT U TO SUCEED
I had mr tapia 2 years in a row. i loved him more the second year. he is detailed in what he wants done but is such a nice guy. hes really easy to get along with.
Mr.Tapia is not a fun teacher, easy to get off topic is a plus, but hes makes things harder then they have to be and, he loves saying "AP WORLD HISTORY"...
Thanks to u i'll always remember to save a little bit of money everytime i get paid :D ... great teacher-great class !!!
he is the nicest guy in the world with great stories from his childhood.he gives a ton of hw and alot of work but is a really good guy.
He really has to stop the 'must have an extra credit' thing -_-; and not give such HARD TESTS! man...tapia is not on my favorites list...
I had him last year for 9H and he is a very tough teacher. I still got an A- but he gives way to much hw and needs to get rid of the mandatory extra credits.
Clearly, I thought he was alright, to some extent, but he was perhaps too stiff and the "interactive notebook" has got to go. (i didn't know he had dogs...)
A decent teacher, thought not too knowledgeable. His grading systems are terrible, and he is least compromising of any S.S. teacher I know.
Clearly, and to some extent , Tapia is one of the worst teachers i have had. He clearly, and to some extent, was not my favorite teacher.
Traffic Controller Tapia- I knew all thru JR & Highschool Nice guy-compassionate but not a really great memory. Lenient grading, interesting classes somtimes
Always with "to some extent" and "read and highlight". Nice, but not really that helpfu.
He's become really flexible, but he still takes the wrong answer from you.
I had him for 9H and now 10H. I completely hated the guy last year, but this year, he's become so flexible and more social with his students. He taught me a lot
i had this guy in 97 his first year he is real caring and a great guy one of my favorites in longwood
so much homework. sorry, i didn't know this was college! and maybe someday he'll learn to answer questions without COMPLETELY misunderstanding us
