Life lessons by Au. This guy is a wizard in music and in life. You have to take a class with him.
He was my chaperone on the marching band trip to the Rose Parade. really cool guy who was fair and made sure we were always ok. completely not what some of the band parents are saying about him. I don't thik they even talked to him before.
This guy went out of his way to make me feel comfortable in my first year at Punahou. He really cares about us.
He makes learning how to play the guitar really easy and fun! The concert we saw with his more advanced groups was amazing!
What are you talking about? Mr. Au almost always started on time! His class is so fun and we could always joke around. And I think I know who wrote that last comment. lol. That guy was always messed up in class!
Mr. Au was unprofessional. He always showed up 10 minutes late (even though he'd just sit in his office connected to the classroom), has completely ambiguous grading criteria, and openly shows his dislike for certain students. No patience whatsoever.
His class is super fun!
I'm in the 2nd year of taking guitar. Almost all of the students who took guitar my 1st year continued into the 2nd year. Guitar is super fun.
Very good teacher who is also enthusiastic about his subject. He knows everything there is to know about guitars and playing them, although he can be a bit nitpicky. Good overall
AWESOME! but he could be just a tad slower in intro-ing the newer strings, but best overall! :D
Hes pretty hard but will help you out a lot. He is very clear as to what he wants. However some of his methods are not very good teaching methods.
Thanks, Mr. Au, for helping our marching band students get to Washington, D.C. to march in the Inaugural Parade. Your organization and planning as Dept. Head has been awesome.
guitars fun. always willing to help. sometimes hard.
he may be a great guy and a great guitar teacher but as a music department head he fails at his job. He doesn't even understand what it takes to be a true director and he admits it even to parents.
Great teacher. Easy to learn from and talk to. All in all a cool guy.
Awesome class. Mr. Au can play guitar with the best and he knows how to teach it too! Just a down to earth guy.
Mr. Au really teaches about technique and theory. It helped me alot to play different styles. Guitar was one of my favorite classes this year!
Definitely a good teacher. Too bad there were a couple really annoying guys with bad attitudes this year who ruined it for everyone. He actually tolerated more than he should have from those guys.
DARIN DA SHREDDDAAAA!!!! But i agree, he needs to grow some patience
Very respectable person - excellent teacher. Very heavy on theory and technique.
darin au is the man. a great teacher and at the same time is able to connect with students outside the classroom setting. not in a bad way of course
AWESOME! he makes class real interesting since he is willing to be flexible and is open to discussion, within reason... usually...
Practicing any instrument is hard... but Mr. Au makes it easy.
I've learned to play my instrument well while studying on my own with partial guidance from his guitar class. He is niether open to requests of student help, nor friendly outside of class.
