i absolutely LOVED physics honors with him. one of the most memorable teachers in my high school experience. my friends and i never did any work but that is besides the point.
Mr. Haywood is really really helpful when you go to ask him for help during tutorial or class! He really takes his time to try to explain everything to me, and it really helps me understand physics. He's also extremely funny, and that makes it really easy to pay attention in class (along with his awesome English accent). Definitely one of my favorite teachers!
i studied on my own...i couldn't understand his lecture mainly due to his english accent. but he's cool and funny at times
Yes, he doesn't lecture much, but the way he structured the class made physics so easy to understand.
He's funny and knows what he's teaching and doing. He's willing to help you only if you ask. His class (i had him for physics honors) is almost self-taught. Most days, he goes over the hw (a lot of us kind of bs-ed the hw) and then we have the rest of the class to do hw or any classwork.
wonderful teacher. Had him for AP chem, his lectures were sooo much easier to understand than the book was.
He's a funny guy. However, the class structure is not. Rarely do we hear him lecturing in Physics. All we do is sit in class and do worksheets. Can be very boring unless you sit next to people that you know. You can chat in class for the entire time and he would not care. Maybe too relaxed to be an EFFICIENT teacher.
Mr. Haywood is a very interesting person, and he knows what he's talking about, but his explanations of physics are very, very confusing to me. But I'm doing okay because I get my dad to help me.
Good teacher. teaches well. If someone complains he doesn't teach well, it just means they didn't bother to actually READ the chapter & the notes he gives out.
doesn't really teach well. doesn't even help. have to study by yourself
British, likes the pixies, like Pink Floyd, was a drummer for a band, and he teaches. Well, he doesn't teach too much but he teaches enough to get by if you study (or if you don't, like me, its all good). Great teacher.
For all of you saying he doesn't teach, that's an unfair claim because this is AP CHEM, and Haywood assumes we have prior skills and knowledge from honors chem. That's just his teaching style and I find it to be just dandy!
Hes very nice, and funny at times, but i simply cannot understand waht he teaches and his class is extremely boring. if you feel confident that you can study by youself, i highly reccoment it. if not, i dont reccoment his ap class
mr haywood is simply awesome. he can interact with students both on a professional basis and friendly basis. he can take a joke or two, that is, if you can take a joke or two from him.. great guy, easy class, managed to make chem fun
Mr. Haywood tries to stare you down when you've done something out of hand, dont look away.
a bit sarcastic at times but its kinda funny if u get used to it. he doesnt explain everything very clearly but he's very smart if u ask him stuff
awesome teacher, he is sooo cool. Although he doesnt teach exACTLY what we need to, he still knows his stuff, and helps you if you need it
kinda hard to understand when he lectures but u can tell he knows his stuff
He's a good teacher, though he'd be better if he was a little harder. Love the sarcasm. Keeps me awake in the morning.
My favourite science teacher. He is unfairly blamed by many pupils for their own inadequacies in science. He taught us everything many pupils claim he didn't.
i absolutely loathe this guy. he doesnt teach what he tests/quizzes u on. he lectures on freakin the history of chemistry. no concepts are taught at all.
Lol, he's prob the funniest guy I've seen. (at his age at least) Such funny things happend during teh school year.. ask me about them and I'll tell u . :-P
Hella easy. Start studying for Chem SAT II and AP exam early, and u will end with 2 A's, a 5, and an 800 like me. Muahahahaha I like being conceited
Haywood is a nice guy, a bit unclear, but overall a nice guy. Go to him for help in school!
Understands chemistry but CAN NOT TEACH. I'd rather have Mr. Flores and be getting a worse grade.
nice guy and cool accent, knows his stuff but just doesn't know how to teach it
I can tell he is a good person but I dont think he likes kids. He is sarcastic.
Best teacher in the department, knows what he's talking about. unclear, though.
He's a good person, but his class is rock hard, my grades are suffering
Can tell who's his favorites.. kinda mean in that joking, mocking fashion
Good teacher overall; good lectures; spells English words the correct way
best teacher in the department, am glad he is teaching here
no offense... but his accent kind of throws me off the track
is charming (britishness). although even that cannot make chem fun
Can be somewhat confusing at times, but generally comes across pretty clearly.
i play calculator games too much so i get lost sometimes....-_-
i owe him many many boxes of tissue paper, but its all good
pretty good. Accent sometimes gets in the way, but its all good
sometimes hard to understand, but a good guy all around
