I had Carlson for History (2 semesters); Global Markets and Financial Literacy (1 semester); and Military History (1 semester) and I can honestly say that Carlson makes things in every class super clear and easy to understand. Its a serious class, not one to mess around but you learn the absolute most in his classes than in any other class at school. Most dominantly Financial Literacy class is the most helpful and best life preparing class in all of losal.
I took Global Markets and Financial Literacy (a one semester class) with Mr Carlson. The class was great because I was able to learn all about mortgages and loans, how credit cards work, the secondary mortgage market, and the stock and bond market. It teaches you valuable information pertinent to anyone's life (that most people never get really understand) and is presented in an interesting and easy-to-understand way.
Mr. Carlson is probably one of the best history teachers on campus. He devotes so much time and effort to teach about American history. What makes it better is that he is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the information he teaches. If you decide to take the APUSH test, Mr. Carlson will help if you ask him. From my experience, he spent his lunches to help my friend and I really nail the information for our APUSH. Thanks to him, we both got 5s on the test.
Mr.Carlson is an amazing teacher that teaches more about life than just history. However, he makes US History both interesting and understandable through clear lectures and fun examples. I don't regret dropping AP US History to take his class at all. His class was in depth and included military history which APUSH doesn't, and it is all without the stress. He truly cares about his students and was able to personally help us prepare to take the AP Exam.
had him for military history and all you need is a notebook
I used to like history a lot but now, because of him, I love it. He is really cool and makes lectures and stuff interesting. Just do the notebook and you'll get an A for the most part. Great guy!

He is a great History teacher. He drills things and to your brain and makes you know it by the time the year is over. He has a good style of teaching and makes comming to class fun.
He's a great teacher, and a wonderful H2O polo coach
I had him for Waterpolo, not History. He was pretty awesome.
I've always hated history and this year I love it. I've learned so much and I'm excited to come to class. If you put just a little effort, you can get an A. You watch videos that pertain to what he's teaching and his lectures are EXTREMELY interesting.
