Sep 25, 2014 Mr Leal is a fair teacher that made me responsible to keep up with the work. His exams were hard but if you prepare, you'll do find. Make sure you do the suggested homework problems! Flag Rating

Sep 17, 2014 Honestly Mr. Leal isn't even that bad. I learned a lot from his teaching and got a B both semesters in Chem H. He explains everything that you need to know to succeed in his room. Flag Rating

Sep 10, 2014 words can't even describe this guy, he is just no. He is a really nice guy but I don't seem to agree with how he decides to teach, you literally need to look at the flidging textbook to even understand half of what he is saying Flag Rating

Nov 24, 2013 Don't know why easiness is a bad thing according to this website...
In short, a very difficult teacher with very difficult exams. He's not strict and he's overall a pretty good guy, but as far as competency and dedication goes, he is lacking. Instructions for labs/projects/lessons can be very ambiguous and the student is expected to learn mostly by him/herself. Lessons are taught through worksheets and recycled PowerPoint presentations. Expect a lot of work if you want to pass his Honors class.

Jun 25, 2013 The tests are half vocab and half math. No calculators at all so when it comes to stoichiometry or other stuff, you're screwed. he told us (after he graded the tests) that we got the set up right.. just the math wrong. Well how about you give us calculators!! Barely anyone in his class got an A.. planning on retaking this class next summer Flag Rating

Aug 09, 2012 His class is freaking difficult. Weekly quizzes are what your whole grade will depend on, along with the midterm every semester. His quizzes have only 10 questions usually, so if you miss even three, that's an instant C. He doesn't really teach, just stands there and waits while we copy his notes from the overhead. You are expected to read out of the textbook and take notes on your own. He may be a difficult teacher, but then again, chemistry isn't an easy subject. Flag Rating

Mar 28, 2012 Okay I don't even know where to start... SC's Science Department needs help. And A LOT of it... I would really appreciate if there was a SINGLE chemistry teacher at SC that was even REMOTELY competent. Leal does NOTHING. He sits there in his little chair and watches our confused and blank looks as we copy down the notes that he puts up. There are NO explanations and students are expected to teach themselves. Any knowledge that a student obtains from his class is from learning by themselves. Flag Rating

Dec 07, 2011 Google was the reason I passed this class. Basically had to teach myself how to do things. Make sure you get in a group with "smart" people when you do your labs, otherwise you're screwed. Flag Rating

Sep 09, 2010 Im pretty sure no one learned a thing in his class. Our STAR scores reflected on that. Overall he just made his class way too difficult and hardly anyone came out of that class with an A Flag Rating

Jun 19, 2010 200 characters to talk about his flaws?! Clearly not enough. But to sum it up. Teaches A LOT of irrelevant stuff. Then when district final comes around we're screwed. I've never been so screwed over. Flag Rating
