Good Person, Bad Teacher
He shows me the meaning of being a GOOD teacher. Wish him all the best
Mr. Mallis is the best history teacher ever! His class is kinda hard like you have to take notes everyday, write 10pgs essay, and the written tests but he's amazing!!! I love how he's being fair to the students. Also it's CP but what you learn in his class will be helpful when you take an AP us history exam.
HE IS THE BEST TEACHER.
From exams to conversation about the lesson, he makes History interesting AND important!
those who complain and talk bad about him probably have bad grades and isnt liked by him.
Trust me he's good.
His class is oriented around discussion and debates, so if you don't participate you cannot get a good grade in his class. Also most of the learning you do is on your own, he will review it briefly but you have to be the one learning the material. His class feels like a college class and the way he grades makes it very hard for ANYONE to get a good grade. You need to literally memorize your entire book and constitution to even have a chance at an A. It's too bad that colleges only care about GPA
Mr. Mallis is the perfect example of a teacher who integrates real life into a school structure. His class is a warzone, meaning that everyone is encouraged to have an opinion on controversial topics that circulate around the room 24/7. Although his class is tough, Mallis' unorthodox teaching style not only improves you as a student but as a member of society. His class is energetic, hilarious, and rowdy. He does a great job at making a dull subject very interesting. Thanks for a great year!
I'm currently a Junior at CSUF, I saved my notebook from his Econ class and they are reading verbatim in my upper division class. Thank you Mallis!!! You're the best!!
Best teacher really, he teaches us about LIFE, I mean, LIFEEEEEE, but his tests are hard to predict, and its a little hard to get good grades in his class. Other than that, though, hes amazing and its sad that he will be retiring after this 15-16 school year :(.
(Had him for CPUSH, and its really hard)
Mallis's CPUSH class is basically APUSH minus the homework. He's the best teacher ever; extremely interesting classes- you'll never be bored.
Mallis.....just the name....you will hear about him all four years in high school. If you never get him, perhaps you will never find out whats so great about him, but you will wonder for the rest of your life why so many people look up to him.
Mr Mallis....through all of high school, he was probably the best teacher I ever had. Flat out hilarious. Instead of a class, his class felt more like a comedy show. There is never a class that is boring, he is always energetic and entertaining. Although his tests are essay type tests, not scantron, I am still glad I am in his class. His tests are pretty difficult for the funness of his class cancels all that out. Greatest teacher I have had in all 4 years of high school.
Oh Mr. Mallis. Had him last year for Poli Sci and Econ and he is still as foul-tempered as ever. Deep down he is a very nice, caring person, but he is in desperate need of anger management and is possibly bipolar. BUT he knows a lot about Econ (not so much Poli Sci) and is always available to help you. While in his class, NEVER do other homework, use electronics, or talk to people around you. Also don't breathe too loudly.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. He really cares about his students and gives everyone the chance to earn a good grade. He's the kind of teacher that may seem temperamental at first but with time you realize he is a sentimental person who's gone through a lot of tough times and learned from it. He shares a lot of personal stories and when you leave class you've learned more than just poli sci/econ. He's great!
All I have to say is that this teacher is amazing and definitely unique. Mr. Mallis is definitely a difficult grader. However, just because he is a harsh grader, doesn't mean that he's a cruel guy. At first, I thought that he was just any other teacher, but as time went on, I truly realized why people looked up to him. He talks a lot about important life lessons and truly is a teacher where you can go for an advice or opinion for anything. Mr. Mallis taught me to lead my own life.
This great man is frikkin hilarious. He loves to rant about society and what's wrong with the world today. I find myself learning more about his views on today's society more than history. His tests are hard and he is a very hard grader but he's so entertaining and i love listening to him be all sarcastic and hilarious. He's scary when mad, but really, that's just how he is. HIs personality is the best and who cares if he's a jerk, he's awesome!
Mallis is a very hard teacher and he cannot teach at all. All the things we learned we learned ourselves and he didnt teach us anything. He is the worst teacher I've ever had and I spent 90% of my homework time doing his homework. He takes his class WAY too seriously.
Mr. Mallis is very volatile and lashes out too frequently. He has sent 5 students out crying and we aren't even in the 2nd semester.
i will never forget mr. mallis! he's really really funny and you will never fall asleep in his class. he teaches differently from other history teachers and you actually learn something worth to remember! he tells you story from his life and he's really nice! sometimes he's scary and makes kids cry
Mr. mallis was definitely one of my favorite teachers at UNI. He cares a lot about wanting his students to feel like they can be themselves and that he there if you need someone to talk to. Also, mr mallis is good not great at teaching but his rants were great ends to my school days. He is a really
Last year, i went to Mr Mallis's class each day to learn more about life and how to lead mine. I dont care what went on between warring nations in the early 1900s. And I'm quite certain you guys don't either. Of course, he is required to teach history (and does a great job). However, if you were jus
My second favorite teacher at Uni, behind Mr. Georgino. Definitely made a lasting impression.
a relatively easy class, but not so easy A. you just need to take advantages of every opportunity possible, and understand, but he'll make things clear... he actually shows us to be ourself, indirectly. his ranting can be good and bad, it depends.
Mr. Mallis is awesome. For the first month, I was a bit scared of him because of him ranting and putting students down and yelling about random stuff and maybe even students. But after that, everyone understood that Mr. Mallis was just being himself. So don't take him too personally, he's just the t
he really is a big softie. i have never EVER met a teacher who cares SO much about his students. i still remember when he started crying while telling us how much he cared about us. he is one of the kindest people i've ever met and is someone i will remember ALWAYS, for the rest of my life.
mallis is not that hard, just think. he ranted a lot, but i think that is sensible. i actually love his class...
class is so hard ...it really prepares you...doesn't teach so much mostly the book does everyday is a discussion on what you've already read and learned ..interesting theacher..nice and caring
I love Mr. Mallis. I mean he gets distracted.. But it helps to learn! He's so great and nice. He rants a lot but never without cause. I learn so much about current events in that class.
VERY funny and entertaining, which distracts the class. he's a great guy though and really cares for each of his students. notes are the most important part of the class, because if you can understand whats going on, you'll definitely pass. much love for mallis!!
hahah, he is great-but i think he generalizes too much when he starts ranting during class about stuff that has nothing t do with what we're learning...his class is extremly confusing, the way he explains thing is overwhelming, mixes modern day stuff with history and frustrates the whole class!
One of the best teacher in school. His unique way of teaching makes whatever he is teaching interesting.
Every teacher knows that he has to have a certain level of professionality in his method of teaching. But everyone interprets that a different way. To Mallis, it means that he'll hesitate for a seccond before telling us the funniest story we've ever heard that could get him fired.
He is without a doubt the funniest teacher I have ever had. His class is very hard because he grades really hard but it if you do take his class, I guarantee you will never forget it. Mallis if you read this its Josh Bates from your fourth period.
He is without a doubt the funniest teacher I have ever had and Mallis, if you are reading this beacuse I know you are. Ur the best. His class is very hard and takes dedication and you also have to be on his good side becuz he likes to pick favorites and if you have his class, u will never 4get it!
last year I had Mitchell and she was horrible. if you're going to use sarcasm in your teaching, do it THIS way. i love this guy. he makes history easy to understand, and tolerable. his class is so hilarious. he's kinda like mitchell... only better. more HELPFUL. and positive energy... kinda. (:
Mr. Mallis completely disregards all structure when it comes to teaching. He doesn't care about grades at all and he grades pretty harshly. However, you learn a lot from him and really enjoy his class and his funny, radical, angry anecdotes.
He's an excellent teacher, very helpful. But he grades SO harshly (in history anyway, I don't know about Health or Poli Sci) it makes all of it worthless.
The M-Dawg is the SHIZ! Hes so awesome. Knows his stuff, cares about his job and the students (Even though it doesn't seem like he does). Like someone else said, its hard to learn in his class if you don't like what hes teaching...I will admit that. Still, hes a great teacher.
Very good teaching ethic. Makes class enjoyable but also very insightful. Good sense of humour and understands students well. 2 thumbs up!
He's very frank and cares about the subject. Sometimes a student may feel hurt when he's trying to get a point across. Cool teacher.
oh i had mallis for basketball this past year and it was pretty hilarious!! i don't know about his teaching but he has an awesome personality which lightened the tense "sports atmosphere"
The M-Dawg is the greatest. The only thing I sometimes hear is that if you don't love history, law, politics, that sort of thing, hes hard to learn from. Not my problem!
If I can't say something nice...I won't say anything at all...
Mr. Mallis is awesome and I love the fact that he is so blunt and tells you the truth no matter what. He'll also be there for you when you need help. For example when I was taking Political Science with a different teacher, he offered to help me out studying for my tests. He is a great teacher.
i haven't had him but i know he's a really funny guy since he was a sub in my AP Poli-Sci class once!
he is seriously a phyco hes way funny and nice tho and you have to have a sense of humor or your screwed cus ull hate him
anyone who goes to uni should take mr mallis one of the coolest teacher i had in high school helps everyone and cares about his students far beyond theclassroom
for poli sci or econ he is the WORST! doesnt know how to teach and likes to humiliate his students to the point many have cried in class
He combines knowledge of the subject matter with an engaging and open personality. He is always available if you just want to talk. My favorite teacher at Uni.
The best..will work after class or at office hours to make sure you've got it. Really cares about each student as a person.
Mr. Mallis is a good guy who cares about his students. He can be a good teacher and he can be like one of your friends who always has something to funny to say.
Nicest person all together! He's helped alot of people... and he's always there for you, if you need anyone
This is a great teahcer. He will work with you and make sure that you don not fail this class. Overall nice guy, and very funny!!
Awesome teacher.. really makes the class and gets you involved
