I think sloan is a fairly good teacher, empirically. He is fairly good at explaining things and very knowledgeable. In the way that teachers should care about their students, though, he falls short. I really didn't feel as though he cared more about me beyond what I could do to boost his AP pass rates. He was very rude to me on multiple occasions and is very nonchalant about his unkindness. Honestly though about giving him shampoo as a goodbye present but two wrongs don't make a right...

I slept in his class and did well, mainly because everyone else hated him last year. Overuses the word "apathy", but dresses well and is open to feedback and actually doesn't just read off a powerpoint.

Ok, let me tell you some facts about mr sloan. The first is he cannot teach. I do not know where he got his degree, but he should go back to school and choose a different profession. If you get mr sloan, get a different teacher to at least have some joy in your high school career. Sorry Mr. Sloan, but AP Chemistry is not your strength. Maybe you should go out and get a wig.

I like Mr. Sloan. He is a really good teacher. He is clear about what he is teaching but, sometimes, he is kinda annoying. I personally don't like his attitude. He hates his CP class. He gives all the honors stuff for the cp class and expect to do well on all the tests and quiz. other than that, i like him, but i won't recommend him.

he's insanely mean to kids he thinks are not super smart, or kids who like any class (other than physics) better than chemistry. he is condescending, unfair, cruel, and awful to anyone other than like two students from each class (usually the two smartest kids). he makes kids feel like absolute trash just because they aren't good at chemistry. he will preach about how chemistry is by far superior to all other subjects, even insulting other teachers. really not a good guy.

The best AP science teacher at Oak Park. He actually knows his stuff, and is ready to help anyone after school. He can be quite harsh to people who annoy him, but he never loses his temper because of chemistry questions. Class is difficult, but at expected AP level. If you read his notes and book, and also watch some other video/pay attention during class, and also utilize 7th period, you will not have trouble with this class.

He is not a nice person and he will play favorites. Sometimes can be cool, but other times he is really unfair. Especially on tests and how he treats students.

Hes a cool laid back guy but he has his set of rules. His notes are pretty good, and even though they have small print, they have almost everything you need to know. His tests are difficult but he teaches really well and he has an engaging style and voice when he teaches. You need to put in work for an a in his class, but its definitely not impossible.

I liked Mr. Sloan a LOT more than I liked Mrs. Litten. Maybe it's because I just like chemistry to begin with, but I actually really liked Mr. Sloan. He was one of my favorites. The tests are hard, but they are at the AP level.

David Sloan played favorites like no other teacher. He would decide who to help and who to let fail. I did not fail his class, but he was of no help whatsoever. Politics always got in the way of everything he taught, not to mentino the constant mocking and put downs and slurs that came form his mouth

This teacher is okay in teaching, but he is very rude to students. He consistently acts like students and the younger generation for that matter are all unintelligent and uninterested in learning and progressing in life. At times he is a good teacher but at other times he is judgmental to certain students which offends me. For example, if he believes that a student for whatever reason, will not do well or pay attention he will mock and judge them in front of the class. Good teacher but not nice

Sloan was one of my favorite teachers at OP. These other people didn't like him because they failed. Or expressed their hatred for the Irish. Sloan Was a good teacher. Read and Memorize.
