I love Dr.Waterhouse so much! I had him for 2years and I feel lucky to have gotten him twice. He truly cares about all of his students. He is engaging and lectures with passion. It is obvious that he understands and enjoys the subjects he teaches. He also taught the current mayor of LA (Garcetti) government when he was in high school.
I admit having fallen asleep frequently in his class, but that's irrelevant because I like Dr. Waterhouse so much, and his lectures are still clear. His love for history is contagious, but more than that what I like about him is his clear-eyed wisdom on the material, on teaching, and on students. You'll eventually find he is like an eye in the storm of your junior year life. I thought his method was too narrow at first, but I relented. I'm much better at history now. A subtly endearing gentleman
Dr. Waterhouse is a pretty great teacher. He usually lectures a lot (not much off topic discussion) but he knows his stuff very well. If you are in his class for World and Europe then you will be very prepared for the midterms and finals. Also, he does give reading quizzes at least once a week but if you do the reading they should be easy. Finally, take good notes and meet with him if you have problems. You will probably be ahead of most classes by at least a decade of history.
Dr. Waterhouse is really nice and pretty lenient on reading quizzes, which is always appreciated :). His multiple choice on tests are beyond hard!! Pretty helpful if you take the time to go and visit
Apush is amazing with Waterhouse. Never been a day he wasn't pumped to be there teaching. He will challenge you but is incredibly fair. If you get him, you're one of the lucky ones.
So pretty much, Dave just blatantly rocks. Just sayin'. YOU'RE TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL DAVE!! ... Oh, I guess too bad you're a teacher, heh. =D
love Dr Waterhouse. Great teacher, had him for APUS, now Gov His classes are always great, and when I struggled in the beginning of APUS, he was there to help. tough, but amazing
I don't think he was quite so enthusiastic for World and Europe but I hear he's good for US, I would say he's ok.
he's amazing. it's like you walk walk out of his first day after having a year of werner and learning nothing and you think "wow i learned something"-- a LOT
very good, passionate about the subject and really knows what he's talking about. very hard, but prepares you well for finals and next year. do the reading.
Dabel to Hogarth and Coombs to Dub'House... *sigh* even still, kinda hard, but reasonably hard. Quite helpful, and an extremely good teacher.
probably the best history teacher i have ever had...i was fortunate enough to have him for 2 years.
One of the best at H-W! Very knowlgeable and very interesting in both AP US and AP Gov. GET HIM IF YOU CAN!
One of the better teachers I've ever had. Difficult classwork, but worthwhile, not busy-work. You learn a lot from him if you invest an effort. Great teacher
What a great teacher. Quizzes nearly every day, but he's so logical and smart that it makes up for it unlike other teachers <cough>.
Pretty hard, but he has nothing on Mr. Yaron. He's very competant which is good and knows his stuff.
Mr Waterhouse is one of the hardest 10th grade history teachers- but in the end it is totally worth it- i learned a lot in this class
