Landis only teaches in the style of lecturing and she does not review at all. The day before the AP test she did not even bother to show up to school. Landis does not help students unless they are her 'favorites' or the smart students.
Landis is a great teacher. Honestly, she can be a little boring as all you do normally is listen to her talk and take notes but if you want to learn about history/economics then she is very knowledgeable and all you have to do is pay attention and be acquisitive in order to have success.
I'm reviewing five years after I had Ms. Landis as a teacher. I wound up majoring in Economics because of her class, and have now secured a fantastic job as an analyst at an oil company in Houston. It's been too long for me to review on the details of how her class went, but I remember that she was a hard teacher who would do just about anything for the students that put in the work and actually cared about the material. In short, the best kind of teacher for students who really want to excel.
She's just not a good teacher... She made class excruciatingly boring and constantly lectured without actually really teaching anything... I would've been better off with three extra study halls and a AP US review book for the AP. Also she hates reviewing... what kind of teacher doesn't do review?
Mrs. Landis knows how to make students behave and have fun at the same time. I have her for AP US, and she is constantly telling us when she is free so we can go visit her for help, even to the point of making us set up appointments ro come and talk about essays. She runs a tight classroom (because it is an AP class after all), but still can have fun.
I think she really knows her material and makes class interesting. One of my favorites, and helped me get a 5 on the AP.
In my experience Mrs. Landis has alway's been a good instructor. She is dedicated to making sure that her students know the facts and understand the ideas.
