Did not know the material at all. just put the textbook on the screen as "teaching". I also had her for computer programming and she literally taught us nothing. She just had us read the book and take tests. she answered no questions and dint give any help at all.
Deb Pontier should not be a teacher at this state, for many reasons. Mainly, because she doesn't teach, instead of engaging in the class and helping students, she just gives us a "look in the book" while staring at her phone. She knows little to nothing about the material, which is even worse considering we've learned almost nothing come chapter 6, and by that time she already forgot what chapter we were on. To top that off, the material given to us is laughably dull and pointless.
Pretty bad teacher. She cant teach and just puts up slides and expects us to learn from that. If you ask for help she will just say look at your notes. Im pretty sure the average grade in her class is a D.
Nice person but horrible teacher. Is east only honors precalc teacher and does not know how to teach the class. She teaches from the back of the room on the smart board and we have the class in the library computer lab. Should not be teaching math
Had her for Java. She does not teach at all, just hands out chapters from a book, haves you read them and take tests over them. Test are not practical. Don't even bother to ask for help, as she will tell you to look in the book, or "open from the H drive". She was nice at the beginning, but rude once people didn't understand the material and asked for help. Sits at her computer with headphones on. Unless you are good at computer programming, do not take this course.
Puts things on the test that she never went over in class but wont admit it.. (Algebra 2)
I love how all of us Java nerds from '04 are banding together. Pontizzle is amazing. Sorry for those who have her for Algebra. As long as you do the work, you should be fine.
T3h pontizzle is the most amazing teacher ever! Pontizzle ftw!
i've had Pontier 3 years straight now. Java isn't her strong point but she tries and means well. After three years she is finally starting to get my sarcastic humor.
Mrs. Pontier is an amazing teacher and she's lots of fun. She is able to make math "come alive". Whoever disses her really sucks! Most importantly she loves us seniors the most!
Unfortunately too many people had Ms. Pontier during her back surgery - she's doing better and I think she is a good teacher.
If you want to learn in her class, make sure you read the book. She's nice and tries to be helpful, but Java is not her strong point.
I love Ms. Pontier.. she has a hectic life, and unfortunately that will affect her day at school. BUT she loves her students who actually pay attention.
Never ever teaches. Just says "look in the book" to all your questions
Not a serious computer science class, teaching is lacking, but it can be fun to work out the programs with your friends, as long as you're quiet about it.
The calsses are asy except the test because they are not over practical things like how to make your program do this, but this that are not realy ness. to learn
nice, TOO MUCH programming time, not enough teaching-- more a teach-yourself class
