She's the best teacher ever!! She's one of the only teachers I've ever had who actually teaches with the powerpoints and worksheets. If you pay attention in class, not only will you spend less time cramming at home, but you will understand the material better and do well on any stats exam without extra time learning at home. And she's also super helpful. If you don't understand a concept, she's always there to answer them. Most of these reviews are from slacking seniors. Totally take her class!
I remember seeing Frazier on my course list and reading the reviews and doing everything in my power to get out of her class. When I couldn't, I just waited for her to start doing whatever everyone said but I came to realize she would soon become my favorite teacher on campus. She is SO helpful. If you ever want to review for a test, she will actually give you study sessions and make sure you feel prepared for tests and quizzes. She actually wants you to succeed on the AP test, bst stats teacher
the best java teacher
She's probably the best java teacher, though that isn't saying much. she's pretty nice and exams are super easy, but she only has a basic knowledge of the subject. also, her curriculum was pretty bad--we spent forever learning gui but no one understood inheritance, which we learned about before if/else (wth). the ta's really made the difference, they were super knowledgeable and were a lot faster at debugging code/helping than she was. she interferes with her students' personal lives too much.
I had her for Java. She seems to know more about Java than Stats (which isn't saying much), but her tests for some reason are always focused on details - that never seem to be written down in notes, even if you copy everything word for word. A lot of people have literally failed their tests even if they created proper programs and have complete notes... and she doesn't have anything to remedy it? I don't know about her.
she quite literally told the class that she was taking a statistics class to learn the content as she was teaching ap stats, i think that says a lot about her. i remember once before a quiz she tried to teach probability but taught it incorrectly, causing everyone to fail the quiz. the reading guides we have to do are incredibly useless. the fact that the school keeps shipping her around to teach different random classes every year really shows how bad of a teacher she is in every subject.
I regretted taking a class with her, she is unclear and makes the exams very confusing. If you have anything with her, just drop the class.
What are all these bad comments?!! I have her with JAVA and she is the nicest person!!! She even boosted me up from a 88% to an A last semester. Her class is super fun and I love her. She makes me challenge myself and like Java even tho I'm horrible at it
Great Teacher, No bias
She's by far the WORST teacher i've had in my life.
1. She doesn't understand the material herself.
2. Her "teaching" is limited to her quickly skimming the material
3. She grades ruthlessly.
She made statistics, what is widely considered to be an easy class, the hardest class of my life.
Really hard, study well, or it will quickly become challenging.
Should her exams be easier? I think so. They are quite hard. Even if you study well, the exams often outsmart you, so be ready for that!
Worst teacher in the school. Never teaches and is rude to students that need extra help on the more difficult material. Drop immediately if you get her for Java or any other class.
Mr. Fraizer was the second best teacher in my time in the us. As a none english speaker i could understand here just fine and even through i had some difficulties with the subject I pulled myself out of it and actually enjoyed java. right now i am learning computer science in my native country and mrs Frazier is 100 times better than my current teacher. plus she wrote my mom a letter that one time about my team management skills that i added to my resume and was always ready to help me. thnak u
Shame on you for teaching Java! You are extremely unclear and rude to your students. Please leave this school, we need decent teachers that actually want to make Java fun, easy, and interesting to learn.
Awful, rude, and impatient. Never gives useful and clear examples nor teaches, making concepts that can otherwise be fun and easy to learn a pain in her Java Class. She even yells at the ones that try to give her constructive suggestions on how to improve the terrible way she "teaches" Java, which consist of merely forcing programming concepts into one's brain within the span of a single class period. Blames on you if you can't follow her pathetic teaching style.
While she tries to be helpful, it's quite obvious that her knowledge of Java is lacking. Recommend reading the book instead, you'll understand it much better and ace the tests.
Mrs. Frazier was an amazing teacher. She actually cares about what her students learn and doesn't test students on things they don't know. She is always there after school if you need help and is always very friendly. I had a great time in her class and I'm so glad I took Java!!
dont listen to these reviews; extremley bias, and strict. Not a good teacher, ex[ects everyone to follow at her pace. she is the reason why java is the most dropped class at MV
Ms. Frazier is for sure the BEST java teacher there is. She's extremely nice, helpful, and friendly and her classes are always engaging and fun, even when we aren't coding.Tests may be a bit hard but there's no need to study for them since it's open notes. Overall, she's an amazing amazing teacher and her class inspired my interest in cs. Easy A.
java : she's a very nice teacher, rarely ever gets mad. she's always available for help if you need it. she's the best java teacher (which isnt saying a lot). actually read all of the readings and you'll be fine, this class was an easy A for me (i had no prior java experience)
I had her for Biology. She's über nice. But she's a fairly hard grader. She goes a little faster than other Bio teachers, but she's always available to help. Warning: If she says she "won't ever test you" on something, don't believe it!
For Java: She is the most dedicated and nicest teacher. Very passionate, and loves to help students. She does not teach that much though-- it's mainly textbook stuff. Exams are VERY hard. She also gives points back, and extra credit. So enthusiastic!
Ms. Frazier is an amazing teacher! Sure her tests are hard but you learn SO much from her if you actually go in and talk to her. She knows what she's talking about and you learn stuff about bio and all aspects of life. Lots to say she's great!
Mrs. Frazier is the best Bio teacher ever! Sure exams can be quite challenging, but that's the fun part. She really makes you connect concepts and this helps reinforce learning. If you want to learn bio, she is the person to go to. If you're struggling, you just need to go up to her. She is a really nice person and dedicated. Also her lectures are really nice because she explains concepts so well. way better than Gupta.
One of the worst teachers I have had at MV. She is extremely rude and unclear to her Algebra students and has made it very clear that she only wants to teach AP Bio. She blames us for not knowing the curriculum after it just being taught to us. After the entire class had an F average on a test she blamed us, rather than her poor teaching skills. She piles on work before finals with double homework and a 12 page review packet.
She kept repeating the same sentence three times in my java class. i could have gone to sleep..............
Very good teacher for AP Bio. Very clear and is willing to talk to students, especially if she made a mistake.
Very good teacher, she makes bio fun. But you need to take initiative and she'll appreciate you more.
Very helpful in JAVA... I came in with no previous knowledge and she helped so much
Incredibly nice and helpful even though it was fairly clear that I was doomed at Java from the start. She helped me a lot after class/during lunch whenever I needed it. really really nice :)
I had her for JAVA, and she definitely teaches more than DeRuiter. In Bio we go fast, but she does teach. She can be boring at times but is also funny.
I left java a lot for sports and debate and etc, and she helped me so much to regain my points. I did horribly in the 2nd sem final (dropping me to a B) but she made it an A after I did extra work.
Mrs. Frazier is a very nice and helpful person. She offers free help on discussions/essays. Bio AP is a difficult class, so it is not necessarily her being a hard teacher.
(Bio AP) Her test questions are unclear, the practice tests are very unhelpful, and she doesn't tell you the requirements for assignments until after you turn them in.
mrs. frazier is possibly the worst teacher i have ever had. her tests are impossible, and her expectations/directions are unclear. switch out by all means...
Java was so fun because it was basically just slacking off, as long as you know what you're doing. Pay attention when she lectures though, or else you'll fall behind.
(JAVA) Really easy, really cool. I talked so much in her class with my friends and she didnt mind. She has ears of a hawk so dont think she cant hear you. Doesnt know too much, but teaches good.
I had her for JAVA and I thought she was okay. sometimes i could tell she didnt understand the concepts herself but she is really nice and kind of helpful. she never gave u extra time on tests though.
At first she seems nice, but eventually she gets VERY mean if she chooses to. She's very helpful, but she's hard and not so great at teaching during her lectures. Pickiest grader I ever had.
she doesn't teach anything you couldnt learn from the textbook. I find bio interesting-but she puts me to sleep. She's also very sensitive about the respect you show her, and takes offense very easily
one of the best teachers i have. if you are taking java, pray that you get her.
I've heard for java she is very subpar and mediocre, but for bio she is definitely pretty good, though i have no reference for judgment (tsai?) She knows her stuff pretty well, and i've yet to encounter any major problems.
She's pretty nice. And if you participate, you get a lot of extra credit. But sometimes she doesnt teach that well cuz she rushes through things. And if you don't understand something, you really have to go straight to her.
Lectures are a bit dull, but she puts a great deal of effort in everything. Always willing to help and offer extensions for work if there's a legitimate reason. Very nice person.
Her tests are handwritten which is HARD TO READ, and on one of her tests the class average score was 64%. The class average for the retake was 47%. Her tests are WAY too hard.
On a test which was 6 questions, she made 4 mistakes on the Q's which made 2/3's of the Q's undoable, or with negative lengths. And one of them violated the fact that triangles=180
She's soooo nice! And such a good geo enriched teacher!
she's a very nice person, and is willing to help outside of class. However, she is the most strict grader I've encounter thus far in life. Can be biased at times during grading. Moreover, transfer out if you can and as quickly as possible
easy for math... she doesnt quite understand what shes teaching, won't admit mistakes, and if u pt out mistakes, she gets extremely mad at u in front of class
dont understand anything.workload=unreasonable.other bio classes don'tread the bk. POM=?!(@ least make it worth more).explains OUTSIDE of class, why not DURING?
ok...ummm one thing. WAY TOO MUCH HOME WORK...THE HOME WORK DOESNT REALLY HELP THAT MUCH, ID RATHER SPEND MY TIME STUDYING...but just WAY TOO MUCH WORK...AHHHHH
i think i grew to liek frazier over the year. she might seem to not explain things well but if you ask, you'll know what you need to know
VERY BEST TEACHER!!! i took java and she gives hw everyday and really wants us to learn. willing to answer questions and give individual help when programming.
She's a really great Geo. Enr. teacher. Really knows her stuff and can answer your questions so that you actually get it!
had Bio AP w/ her: might not have been the best teacher ever but shes a great person and always willing to help if you need it
I'm in her JAVA class and she is always there to help you if you need it. even though, she explains stuff AFTER she gives the quiz, which is sometimes annoying.
She's a great person but she's got to work on her teaching. She should settle down with 1 subject and learn how to teach that well, then maybe expand.
She gives the quiz, before she teaches the lesson, there something wrong with that
she ok....she doesnt like to answer questions in class though...kinda odd...but shes doesnt teach science...she teaches math and java
