Definitely got the impression in school that Backschies preferred "popular" kids over "regular" kids, and looked down her nose at a lot of us. I didn't find her "honors" english class interesting or useful, and hated the way I felt about how she treated some of us. Gifted children don't all come in the "popular" package. A teacher's job is to educate, not show social preference.
I'm now a magazine publisher; possibly in part due to my school newspaper experience with Backschies.
