I never had Schaafsma as a classroom teacher, I had him as a coach on the football team. He was one of the coaches who infuriated me the most. Played favorites, sometimes to the detriment of the team, and was just all around terrible in terms of bedside manner and coaching acumen.
Schaafsma is an amazing teacher. I aced my Stats class in college because of what he taught me and I still use that knowledge in preparing for my med school board exam almost 6 yrs later.
While a lot of peopel seemed to find him insulting, I found his teaching style very effective. Although he was a little bit rude when it came to adressing students, he really made sure you learned the material by making you take notes and get it right on the first try. It was the first time I had gotten an A in a math class in years and I honestly believe that it was because he pushed me to do my best and study hard. Although he has left LCHS, I hope people will remember him as a good teacher.
I had trouble with this man early in my high school career but he ended up being one of the nices teachers i've come into contact with.
the best thing in the whole entire world. best best best. he knows everythin gin his subject. very understand and helpful. he would be a sad loss to lchs.
He is a very dry and boring teacher but is knowledgeable in is subject area. I think that he is nearing the end of his career because he is often grumpy and unresponsive. The way he speaks is very monotonous and can be related to watching paint dry or watching concrete set.
he must be better for ap stats... he wants people to ask questions but then he explains them in such a way that even the asker is bored out of his/her mind
It would be better if the current average of our class wasn't a D. I do like the fact that he makes the potentially boring subject of Stats more fun by constantly giving us candy, but he needs to work on letting us know exactly what is expected of us on tests. His multiple choice are basically luck when it comes to getting some of them right.
He is a nice teacher. He is easy on homework. If you have any obvious or easy questions, DON''T ASK!! HE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING, so dont.
you can tell he really hates teaching, he doesnt answer the questions students ask but instead goes all the way back to explaining everything from the beginning of the dinosuar era
He's very, very boring. But he's still so nice. Just turn in homework and you'll always get a B or higher...
He can be really boring, but if you don't bug him (aka come tardy everyday, etc.), then he's really nice. If you have a question, he'll explain it, even though he might drone.
I thought he was an excellent algebra teacher. Mr. Schaafsma was always willing to help me and I very successful in his class. I wish he taught Alg 2.
Not good at explaining. Wont listen to your question, tries to answer it before you finish asking. Drones on simple consept for hours, doesn't explain complicat
u just need to become friends with him even though he can be boring
He is a very hard teacher and he tends to not answer the questions that are asked. He HATES being asked a question multiple times.Yet, he wants to help us learn.
dude...mr schaaf is the best teacher ever i had the best time in his class and MISS KAY OMG!
He has very little patience, and he can explode if you ask him how to do something more than 1 time after he explains it. He scares me when he gets mad.
well with a wingspan of 79 inches, we kinda worry he might actually come in for a landing someday, but he's nice, just repetitive, and boring... and repetitive
not the best class...but it got better...r u kidding APSTATS?
