I took Mr. Stover's AP3 calculus class 1973-74. He was hard and set high standards, but was extremely fair and entirely dedicated to making us think mathematically. Due to his class, I was ranked 7 out of over 1000 calculus 1 students my freshman year in college. I can still recall things he taught me over 40 years ago.
I had him in 1982, AP Functions. Absolutely the best teacher I have ever had. I am now a physician; thanks to him for instilling the love of math and science in me.
Had him in 71. The best math teacher I have known. I am a professional mathematician. He pushed me to nearly max the CEEB AP3 Math test ... on my 3rd attempt. This teacher stands above all others.
What a clear and thorough teacher! I had him 1989 when he won teacher of the year and he surely deserved it. I don't think I EVER managed to make him smile, though!!
