Very fair and helpful.
My daughter had him for history and he was great. Always tried to make the class fun with connections to music and current events. Very fair and nice.
I had Ed Beck for AP world and lets just say he is a very interesting man. Very nice and funny, but can sometimes blatantly blurt out offensive remarks, play random songs just because he thinks they connect to the lesson and literally everything he says could be a meme. I stopped trying in the class around the 2nd quarter when i realized it was a joke. Rest of the year I devoted class to messing with him. It was pretty worth it as the class was my fave. I still passed the AP test so don't fret.
I had Mr beck for ap world and the guy is hilarious and the nicest person you'll ever meet but you won't learn anything. don't stress about the ap test because you won't know anything but you'll most likely still pass. I learned more about the history of the Beatles and Ed beck than I did about the world
Ed Beck is as off topic as they come. For a long time students were able to cheat on his tests because he used the tests that came with textbooks instead of creating his own, however upon switching to teaching AP World History, students can find themselves ABSOLUTELY DOOMED. He is really nice though.
Mr. Beck is essentially the biggest gangster at Mayfield High.
Ed Beck is an unusual fellow. He stares at the wall and say "uh" or "um" every other sentence. Makes outrageous claims as if he invented the question mark. Not sure if he talks to the class or himself. Often has trouble grasping basic concepts. Not sure if he is the teacher or we are. Other than that though, he is a solid teacher.
My sister has him for AP World History. All he talks about is his personal life and then gives pointless worksheets. He expects them to learn everything from the book and does not believe in standing up in front of the class and teaching. He is the worst teacher at MHS!
Oh Mr. Beck. He definitely knows his history and loves music, but it doesn't translate in his class. He's pretty clear about his expectations and getting a good grade in his class is pretty easy. The key to this class is to not take anything he says or does too seriously.
He is funny and has good taste in music but other than that, his class is terrible. He often makes jokes about John Kasich and any other Republican. Ridicules students opinions if they don't agree with him. Explicitly expresses communist/socialist beliefs. Most of what we do in class is not relevant to what we are covering or what is on the test. Oblivious to the fact that over half his students have copies of his test and cheat regularly. Overall, his class is a joke and you don't learn.
Mr. Beck what to say about Mr.Beck? I didn't learn much other than how to make dinner and listened to Yoko Ono. Played games every week that everyone cheated on. I will never forget his class.
He is a nice teacher and makes class fun. Very fair, and lets you retake tests. I like the games and music he plays.
Ed Beck is hilarious, but he gets sidetracked easily. He does a lot of "um uh"ing, but a pretty good teacher otherwise.
I loved this class. Best history class at mayfield so far
One of the best teachers at Mayfield. He makes learning fun. History with music
The class is fun and way easy too! I don't think I've done anything or learned at all this year in his history class.
I don't think i did anything in this class bought the tests online and got the mid term from last year and the most fun class EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just a fun class, and he is helpful. Will give you a break too.
Sometimes tells the class what other kids are getting and makes us listen to music that "involves" history some how. I fail to understand how listening to Yoko Ono is gonna make me smarter in history.
I <3 him he is the best teacher ever and made me sausage--------------------------It was good
his class is irrelevant, cuz all we do is listen to music and watch movies. just read the book. he's funny, tho- he rants about yoko ono, talks about last night's dinner and shows us WWI gas masks.
having Mr. Beck for a teacher is exasperating. It's almost impossible for you to know enough from learning that class to feel prepared for midterms.
so easy, and a great guy, but his teaching style and choice of music are out.
I dont know why everyone complains about this man his class is a breeze and you really miss him after that class its so easy just show up and you get an A
Worth less, and he talks too much, distracting my learning
Mr. Beck is pretty worthless as a teacher, luckily his course is pretty easy if you can teach yourself and do all the assignments.
Ed Beck is not a very good teacher. He doesn't teach, and he usually has no idea what he is talking about.
his class is HARD. but it's a good replacement study hall b/c you just do your hw for other classes in his class
The material he goes over in class never seems to be on the tests; the only way to do well is to read the book. I didn't learn a thing in his class. He is pretty annoying.
writes good college recs... stay on his good side... class lectures about food, yoko, and of course chelsea looses some focus from the material tho.
He is mean and he spent the whole class checking his myspace and playing jezzball. Just pray you don't get him...I was unlucky enough.
Pretty pretty pretty amazing. Likes Asia which makes it ever pretty amazinger and well amazing, and he has good musical taste and amazing. ED BECK=AMAZING.
You cant expect much from a history teach. There is no way to make history or fun and exciting class. He knows his stuff.
Mr beck is a rather boring man and he really has no clue what he is talking about. So far i have been in his class for 2 months and he has yet to learn my name.
yeah you can complain that mr beck is a bad teacher...just wait til you take your next history class. the man is really nice and cares about his students.
Some people spend too much time complaining about Mr. Beck's class. When you have a boring history teacher next year and tons of reports and tests, you will miss Mr. Beck's class!
Well umm he wouldnt be that bad of a teacher, if he would teach, and um, well yes, mayber if he listned to umm les yoko ono and miles davis if you will.
Well ummmmmm yea welll hes a good guy but ummmmmmm just has go to teach us something he comes up with not straigt from the book ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yea welllll
Mr. Beck needs to concentrate more on how to teach his class, rather than how to properly stuff oranges into a chicken for dinner.
i dont see how anyone couldnt like mr. beck, he was my favorite teacher, and he is just a generally nice man,if you say hes boring, you must have the wrong guy!
Talks so much but says so little. I feel jipped of world history as I can never concentrate on anything he says. IMPOSSIBLE to argue with
He gets off topic easily, especially when he talks about food. ex: lemon chicken
this guy is out to lunch. trys too hard to be cool but comes off as the exact opposite. someone needs to tell him to stop complaining about everything & relax
Mr. Beck is the best teacher ever. He will help anyone who needs it and uses AWESOME music in his lessons. Rock on Mr. Beck!!
He is the best. He uses music to teach history. I love his class games. Very caring.
mr beck is funny, and has a very cool guy. his taste for music and history are a great combination that help students tie in WWII w/ a yoko ono song.
