I had her last year for 9th grade bio, and while she teaches off of her pptx, her tests are easy enough that you can study everything the night before and ace them. If you know your info well, you will get an A . Infinitely better than Ms.Monroe!

She's a very knowledgable person and I respect that. However, Dr. Schwartz gets great satisfaction from returning poor grades. She does not relate to the students at all and she is very vague. She doesn't teach anything in class, she expects us to teach ourselves at home. If you can't teach it in class, how does she expect us to read it at home? I don't think she is a great teacher.

Teaching just off powerpoints can be bad because she will say "this powerpoint is posted so just read it when u get home" but I believe that if there isn't time to teach it in class, we shouldn't be expected to have the time to learn it. But, having powerpoints easily accessible at home is a MUST for a course that's full of factual info. If you actually study and try on the hw, you will not do poorly.

Dr. Schwartz is a good teacher. There's nothing that bad about her other than the fact that she basically just teaches off of powerpoints and takes them off blackboard the night before an exam. Really quick grader. Funny in class. Nice to people if you show her respect.

I'm in Dr. Schwartz's 9th grade bio At first I wasn't sure about her, but after reading the rest of these comments, I felt I needed to clarify: She's by no means a bad teacher. If you do your work, take notes, and spend some effort on labs, you'll get an A. Also her tests are largely multiple choice I don't know what people are complaining about.

Everyone seemed to like this woman, but I couldn't stand her or her classes, partially because while the material was interesting she somehow made it not interesting-- STOP TEACHING FROM POWERPOINTS.

She actually knows soo much about bio. She'll answer any question to the best of her ability. If you just concentrate during class, you'll do well on the tests. She cracks jokes sometimes too :)

She knows what she is teaching like the back of her hand. Unfortunately for her students, she limits her class to powerpoints that she has written years ago. She goes through them too quickly and tells her students to go online if they want to learn and be prepared for the tests. Her classes are not engaging because of this and she encourages her students to not pay attention because she does not teach. However, her tests are 60% powerpoints and 40% things she mumbled once in class.

Overall a nice teacher, and a pretty knowledgable person, but is pretty lazy as a teacher, and makes students pick up where she left off in the teaching

No social skills whatsoever!!!!!!! She says the most inconsiderate and provocative things to her STUDENTS! Very nasty and moody. Don't be late and don't ever try to stick up for yourself. She's slap you down! Best to be a fly on the wall and do your work.

DO NOT be late for her class. She will not be pleased. But as long as she can tell that you're a good student and you apply yourself in her class, then you'll be fine. In her powerpoints she'll sometimes just skip over slides and then say "Read it over on Blackboard." Which is frustrating, like, she's the one who's s'posed to be teaching us, after all. Test aren't bad & always gets the main points across, even if we goof off sometimes. And she's pretty lax with the labs, I mean the actual doing of the labs.

I LOVE Dr. Schwartz! She never let the popular kids get away with everything (like they did in every other class). She really, really, really loved me. I loved her class. It's kinda hard, but I love biology, so it was great for me.
