She gave about 10xs the amount of homework as other teachers, which my kid did, but was rewarded with a C.
Cohen had enthusiasm
About literature & wrote back detailed feedback on essays. However her grading system was unreasonably harsh and stressful for smart, diligent students trying to maintain a good GPA. no wiggle room or extra credit to try to boost grades. Administrators "could do nothing". She seems smart, has potential to inspire, but seemed bent on passing out tons low grades.

she was evil, she scared kids and looked like she was about to kill everybody. That degenerate psycho hates kids and we all hate her. she lashed out at everybody in that torture chamber of a classroom for no reason. Nobody should ever have her class again.

Both my husband and I are educators. We found that she told us one thing and did another. We also feel she is insulated by her administrators. Lucky Her.

She thinks she belongs in the theater and tests her skills on her students, takes her sarcasm to a whole other level to where no one understands what's going on. Waits 3 months to grade something and often loses your assignments, and gives you zeroes for those assignments! There is no way to get your grade up! Teaches very little yet gives extremely hard tests and essays that she didn't even teach you about/ to do! She is mean and has immensely high expectations! Leaves randomly all the time!

Never describes anything. Failed her students without telling them what she wanted in the first place. Randomly yelled at my class for like 5 minutes then said she was joking. Thinks she has a career as an actress because she did one improv show. Only good quality is that she doesn't assign much homework, but makes up for it with a ton of in class work that she doesn't explain. She also leaves randomly without telling her students right before big assignments are due.

Psycho. Ditto what everyone has said here. Doesn't return work back and then gives you a horrible grade with no explanation. There is no logic to her grading. She needs to be in theatre where she can get the attention she craves through all her dramatics, not an AP TEACHER that holds the futures of her students in her hands. Someone please fire her. She is mean; a tyrant and a bully.

Terrible teacher. She never gave my child a second chance and canceled any appointments to talk about grades. Very harsh with grading essays and projects without any explanation or makeup. Did not enough preparation for the Ap test

Avoid her AP English 11 class. Never clear about assignments. Minimal homework but very difficult projects in which she gives harsh grading. Never any feed back or makeup work. Expects too much from students. Very unorganized. No prep for AP test.

The worst teacher my child has ever had. Extremely disorganized, not clear with assignments, never returns work for feedback. Most of the work was returned or graded at the end of the semester with no chance for feedback or help. So much homework, only select assignments graded and counted toward final grade. When my child would ask for help, the teacher was rarely available, and actually cancelled several set up meetings.

Stay out of her class. She rarely returns homework and essays. When she does, it is usually at the end of the semester or school year and there is little to no feedback on it. She is very subjective with her grading and picks favorites a lot. When it comes to A.P. test prep, she did very little in the beginning in the school year but wound up cramming it all two weeks before the exam. You really have to prepare yourself. Overall, take college prep English if your forced to have her.

Brilliant but somewhat unorganized. She is very generous by assigning little homework but is brutal in terms of in-class tests and essays. The grading system is seemingly random and based on a very small body of selected work that is difficult to predict. But, that being said, she prepares her students for the AP English exam (especially the writing section) and makes it seem almost easy compared to the preparation she gives.
