I was in Mrs. Mastrangelo's 9th grade honors class at WHS this past school year. I can honestly say she is the best teacher I have ever had. Her class was far from easy, and requires extensive effort. However, I felt that all the effort I put in was worth it. Mrs. Mastrangelo made class very fun, often allowing us to steer class discussion in our own directions. I could tell she really cared about us and our learning. You are lucky if you get her, but be ready to work hard.

Mrs. Mastrangelo transferred to Wellesley high school this year and I'm in her one Freshman Honors class. In all honesty, Mrs. Mastrangelo is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She leads interesting lectures, encourages healthy debate and discussion, has a great sense of humor, is an incredible writer herself and is overall a person I'm glad to know. Incredibly supportive and caring, I'd take sophomore ACP English to spend another year in her class. She's such an incredible teacher.

Pretty serious about class, very little tolerance for misbehavior. But most of the time she is happy and sometimes joking with students. Very kind and smart lady, knows her stuff.

Junior year for our class of 2014 was my best year for an English class. She even said that we were her best class she's had in her time teaching here. If you do the work and always participate in class, you will have an awesome time. - BH

Having Mrs. Mastrangelo is a win/lose situation. She's an extremely challenging teacher who pushes us to succeed. The homework she assigns can range from thirty minutes to three hours. She gives constructive feed back that helps us shape our writing techniques. However, walking into her classroom is like a visit to the orthodontist: You don't know what to expect but most of the time it ends up being painful but in the end you benefit from the experience.

Difficult class, you will know how to write and see symbolism. I wouldn't be in college if it wasn't for her. Ms. Torpey is an awesome individual.

I love Ms. Torpey. One of the greatest and nicest people I know. Easy class but you learn a ton. The class owns that class, she has very little control.

Not a bad teacher, had her her 1st year at SJP, and we walked all over her and owned the class, so she's cool in my book
