I hope Mr. Rosenfelt has achieved his life's dream by teaching at TJ. At Mt. Vernon, he made sure that the parents and students knew that he thought teaching there was beneath him

he is very unclear on assignments, and much of the class is graded subjectively...it is a pretty easy class, though

He doesn't assign anything for the first three quaters then in 4th quater he assigns like, 4 HUGE projects at once. Also has a really bad sense of humor.

He rarely gave useful commentary on work. His sense of humor was corny and annoying, and many of his assignments seemed like busy work to me. We definitely should have done much more writing. I agree with a previous reviewer that the workload was sporadic.

FAR too vague in his instructions, expecting us to understand details that he never talked about. Somewhat erratic in terms of workload - a couple weeks of nothing, and then solid tests and other projects. The bad puns started grating on my ears as well. Didn't give us enough actual writing assignments, i.e. too much fiction/creative writing, not enough standard 5-paragraph-style essays.

Not bad. I liked not having tests and very few quizzes. Lots of writing assignments, but not a super hard class if you are thoughtful and do all the work.

Extremely vague in his assignments with no real structure in class. I doubt anyone really learns much from him since nothing really goes on in class. Some aspects of his teaching are just childish and his jokes are worse than his teaching. He does not command alot of respect and rightly so.

Vague, and believes that writing can only be interpreted his way, if you think the same way he does, and laugh at his terrible puns, I guess you'd like his class. He also gives assignments with little explanation, and afterwards will chastise us for not doing what he WANTED, regardless of what he actually said. I actually liked English last year, but he's pretty much ruined it for me.
