Schott is so cold and sarcastic. I usually get along really well with my teachers, and I'd say in my class I had one of the better relationships with him, and he was still super frank and quiet. He never gives graded papers or feedback on writing. Most of his class is just rehashing the plot of the stories you read. You're a lot better off with Loudon if you actually want to learn actual English grammar/literary terms/writing in general. God damn Crime and Punishment notes man, all i can say...
I have him for journalism. Not a good teacher. He spends most of the class talking about random news stories or topics that don't match up with what we are learning. Whenever I answer a question he never even says if it is right or wrong. He waits until the last day before the reporting period ends and left 2 assignments as zeros on my report card when I actually did them and turned them in.
Mr. Schott is a great guy. At times it seems like he doesn't want to be teaching though. He is also very honest and has a sarcastic humor. He's one of my favorite teachers. I agree that he wants students to get life experience. I got Bs in his class, which is uncharacteristic for me. I could have done more and he knew that.
Mr. Schott is one of the best teachers I've ever had. It's obvious that he wants his students to come away with something and not just pass the tests.
